Marc thanks for the chicken wing recipe it sounds delicious, I'll definitely me giving that a go on the barby come summer Thumbs Up [tup]

Karl & Tom that incident with the British soldiers in Basra was the topic of conversation here yesterday. From what I have read the British commander said he learnt that the two soldiers who were on an undercover mission (I'm thinking SAS here) had been handed to militia and ordered their rescue from a nearby house. I certainly hope the trooper who was photographed leaping on fire from his Warrior APC is OK though.

Bob that does sound like a great idea for a build as not much is shown of the foreign troops who were fighting for the Germans.

Cheers

OK....I've made up my mind. I'm doing the Pro-Modellere 1/48 Me-410 for this build. I'll do it with the CMK engine and wheel well detail set. And, I should hopefully get the Aires cockpit set that Jules is sending me soon. It'll be my first really detailed build for a while (I haven't done so much detailing since my Hellcat, which was a long time ago). Should be fun.......

DanielD'oh! forgot to send you that article, I'll dig it out this week and send you a copy.

Darren According to the MoD here, the soldiers involved only suffered minor injuries, but that picture certainly looked pretty nasty.

Daniel nice choice with the Me-410 it should look cool, any ideas on what scheme you are going to do? BTW, here's a couple of Me-410 cockpit sample shots from the reference CD I sent you yesterday.

Chris, welcome to the build I'll put you and your build down on Page 1. Oh and don't worry about the usual suspects thing, Jules is right it's just a bunch of modelers who happen to do a lot of group builds on this site.

Cheers

Thanks for them Darren. I like the look of the 410's cockpit. Lots of different colours in there...... Question for everyone though......What's that colour the cockpit side walls are painted in? It looks way too light and blue to be RLM 66 and it's not RLM 02. I've seen some other aircraft with that colour too (mostly 109's). It might be a restored aircraft that isn't painted the same as wartime ones???

Howdy folks,
I'm definitely in too, but I just can't decide on what to do. Think I'll leave it to an impulse buy. Then it'll feel justified. I've just finished a Destroyer for the Destroyer group build, geez that thing was bugging me ! I'm not doing another ship for a long, long time.
Cheers

We won't even get into what happened to Dave last time. At just the mention of it the left side of his body develops a nasty twitch and he loses control of his bladder...poor boy, nasty.Yuck [yuck]Dead [xx(]

Will you be at Waverley today. Thought I might look in. Can't complain about the raffle, I got the Hasegawa 1/48 P-40E out of it a couple of months ago.

Same here Tanky!!

I was looking over the resin set for the Spit last night, really has some great detail on it,.
Still in 2 minds as to whether or not to go the whole hog and stuff some PE into the c/p or not.
If I do, I'll only have time to make 1 kit for this GB, which may not be a bad thing.
Don't want to bite of more than I can chew.

Yeah Sean I was planning on doing a Panther for this GB as well but with the Verlinden detail set going in the HE 219 i reckon i'll be limiting myself to just the one buildThumbs Up [tup]
BTW i think you should go the whole hog on you Spit, It would look awesome all detailed and painted, especially with the Invasion stripesBig Smile [:D]

I'm leaning that way Jules.
She would look pretty cool, and the invasion stripes are exactly what would set it off.
There's just something about those stripes on a/c, makes em look 'cooler' than the rest.

Or is it just meConfused [%-)]

Nah it's not just you Sean, I have a Spitfire MK V on Ebay that i'm bidding on, If i win it i'll be painting it in 402 SQD (Canadian) colour scheme Ocean grey/Green complete with invasion stripes...
I'm planning on doing most of the Spitfire family and have already won the Supermarine Seaplane to start it with next wiil be the prototype (if i can find a kit or conversion) followed by the MKII, MK V, MK VIII and IX(clipped wings) MK XIV and FR MK XXIV probably the Airfix Seafire with counter rotating prop and teardrop canopy, I know there are plenty of other sub MK's in between but i reckon that should be enoughThumbs Up [tup]

Sounds like a few of us are going to do the detailing thing in this build. Along with the two sets I already have, I'm thinking of adding a eduard PE set too. Might as well go the whole hog eh?

Ok, thats ALOT of Spit Jules!!!
Looks like your doing with Spits as I'm doing with the 109'sBig Smile [:D]Wink [;)]

I've decided to go with the Eduard Big Ed set No#4804.
Has pretty much everything I'll need I reckon.

This is gonna be one sensational GB if everyone is detailing their kits!!!!!!!Cool [8D]

Yeah your not wrong Sean, but now i've got the Censored [censored] I just had a look at squadron and they have the Aires detail set for the 219 cockpit for $24:95 US but they want to charge me another $25:00 US for postage, which means it will cost me about $75:00 AU to get the detail set hereShock [:O] Thats really pushing it even for meSigh [sigh]Maybe i should do some ringing around and see if i can find one here in Aus.....

Yeah, I know that feeling JulesAngry [:(!]
But thats the price we pay for having a sCensored [censored]t house dollar.

Let me know if your going to order it from squadron, maybe we can split the postage costs, cause there are a couple of things I wouldn't mind getting from there also.

Maybe a few of us Aussies might wanna bulk buy, save a heap on postage, even sending it from one place in Aus to another ends up cheaper than paying for it from the States.
