Sorry, i left early. ok, so heres the rules:

1. Diorama can be of anything so long as it is set in the WW II European theater.
Anything from wartorn streets to airfields, etc. etc.
2.All scales are accepted
3. project begins whenever you join, but you must join by march 3, 2006
4.have fun, above all else, or else

i have some friends who work on graphics sites fixing us up a badge. This build ends on may 21st, 2006 (my B-day Cool [8D]) Oh, and go ahead and post your progress, not enough so that your finished dio is no surprise, but enough to keep this thread alive and to quench the occasional thirst of model addicts.

I was thinking about one with 4 or 5 Shermans in hedgerow country in the open with 2 or 3 german tanks, tigers or panzers behind the hedgerows with about 15-20 German soldiers. The Shermans would have some 30 Americans behind them. It's gonna be HUGE

Either that or a Band of Bros one.

i'd go for it if it's european theatre. i got two ideas for dioramas that i really want to try, keeping it a lil secret for now until i decide on which one to build based on how much parts i can gather within this year.

i ve been working on this idea for 3 months.....and im have design conflicts with this one....i got all the kits for it
its gonna be a street in warsaw during the warsaw uprising, theres gonna be a sdkfz251(tamiya) on the street in front of a barracade, the partisans run out from a corner and attack it, the germans from the car hop out and attack also, next to the truck theres a building with more partisans on the top floor (3rd-4th floor) with either maltov cocktails, mortars (just tapping them and droping them), panzerfuast, or grenades,

but i wanna know since the "action" is gonna be on the top floor, should i build and detail the bottom floors too, or box them in and just build on the top floor, and also, with the two action points do you think its kinda too busy?
thx-DJ

Either one sounds nice actually, depending on how much time you spend on either. so no, it doesnt sound too busy. War is busy, caotic, never organized.

cool badge!

Dj, either way sounds cool. I know that when I look at dios, it is always cool to see everything, from inside a building, to the sewers, so I would favor showing the lower floors as well. It really depends on how much time, money and effort you want to put in to the project though.

I have painted the first out of 24 figures, so far it has taken about 3 days. Which basically means its gonna be awhile!!!!!

i have the facade of the building cut out of wood, all the windows are cut out, i painted it white, now i just have to put frames in all the 28 windows! and windows, and then the four floors, walls on the inside, furniture, rubble, a balcony, all the things for the shops on the bottom floor, the street, engrave the stones in the sidewalk and street, make the baracade, the roof of the building, and then the figures, and sdkfz251...
WOW thats a lot of work!! i have alot of good research including the actual street names of the historical event of the capture of a sdkfz by thte partisans!!!!
gotta get to work-DJ
