I can understand the 'frustration'...after finishing with the cables I considered the fact that I may have missed my calling as a surgeon Laugh [(-D]

Hey reb, that stug's looking great and as mentioned, the scratch-built sandbags really came out nice...well done! What kind of fabric or material did you use to get the 'woven' pattern into them? I was planning on using some porch screening material on mine, but whatever you used came out really well.

I'm also using a propoganda poster along with a painted graffiti slogan declaring, "victory or slavery," on my park wall (gotta get my german speaking neighbors to translate that for me.) I got that little detail out of the Cornelius Ryan book I just finished.

I finished building the BMW R75 I'm using and primered it this past weekend. I brought it out to show a couple of friends and they freaked out over the detail. Approve [^] I did go a bit crazy and besides the PE kit I added to the model, I also threw in the brake, clutch and electrical cables coming off the handlebars. Also, all my figures are now sanded, primered and ready to be painted...gotta get some pics and post up!

Hernando, shtepsela wants to play...you're gonna have to tell him he's on the wrong continent Evil [}:)]

Cheers!

I've totally switched around my dio. I've got the Italeri Med jeep and the med center building so I'm going to do a winter scene of a front line aid station. Think It'll be good.

My Tamiya Steyr Commander wagon is progressing slowly but surely. It's a nice model that fits together very well. I was working on it until the wee hours last night. I've also been studying pics of knocked out and burned out vehicles in order to figure out the right 'look' I want to give this soon to be doomed car.

I also got an e-mail from rollmodels and greatmodels.com alerting me that my bikes and bicycle detail kits I'm including are on the way...plodding along...slow but sure with this, my first dio.

Edited to say: I did get a chance to break out my Grabhandler tool and make a couple of nice looking handles out of brass wire to replace the plastic ones on the seat backs.

Cheers!

man that looks freezing! A couple of tips, take the snow off the seats and areas where the driver would have been. Also, US stretchers were Olive drab, not brown.

after that it looks really cold.

well, this is counter productive, i build a fig, once it was done, it fell and broke. down to 0
i really dont feel like doing any more bricks, even though im done with covering the base like 75% im growing bored with it, maybe something will get me to work on it more. the 251, is well, not anymore finnished, i made all the seats just need to mount them, and give em backs.

Im making very, very little progress. Even when i have time, i spend half of my time on tracks, and none of the shops up here carry gun metal or, suprisingly, flat brown. will post pics in a couple of minutes.

Alright fine, since everyone's been sharing it, no point in keeping mine to myself. I drafted some of my ideas on the base for the dio already. Got the Kubelwagen and some verlinden PE and resin updates. I think I will convert Tamiya's driver figure since I am short on seated figures, and the half track figures from the Dragon kit seems to be sitting too high to fit in a kubelwagen. Might rob the half track driver's arms for the downshift motion.

Name will be settled at either "Drift King" or "First Day in a Car?". Haven't really thought about it. The kubelwagen is in the back sliding motion through a muddy road's corner shortly after a rain (turned front wheels and redone suspension height). So there are fresh puddles of water away from the car and muddy ones in its wake, plus deeply carved track marks into the mud (cars like kubel won't really drift unless it skids out of the way, duh...). Been trying to get more tips on making that little splash from the back wheel using clear resin, still looking into it. Thinking of making the action a bit more animated by having a guy in the backseat reaching out to grab one of the bag that got thrown out from the car.

Well that's it for now, I might end up compromising a lot during the build. The Kubel itself will be built for the the Crazy Kubel GB at the end of october.

i have the same thing.....for about 2 months now, i drew on the street, all the sewers, and the inside of a barbers shop and an apothecary, cut down a story on my building, and the bricks are still.....unfinished. i really need to get inspired.

Smile [:)]Hi Everyone!

I've just been surfing through all the threads here and started to feel a tad left behind!
My plan is to build the Tamiya M4A3 Sherman in winter camo trudging through a forest with a few troops using the sherman for cover as they advance. I have the kit, figures and have just started the base. I have also bought my trees and scenic snow. First time I'll be using this stuff, so this will be a learning experience for meBlush [:I]. As and when I start to make some interesting progress, I'll start posting pictures.

See you later,

Darren.Wink [;)]

alright I'm almost done with my dio, just need the new fig set that's commin out by Dragan, yep a Gen-2 set due out in November, it's almost like they can see my dio and knew exactly what to make just for MEEEEE LOL. But on a serious note, the pics aren't the greatest, but here goes!

alright so there ya go. This is the command tank for the SS 101 Panzer Reg. The setting is the last offensive in Normandy before all Tigers were destroyed! Yep, it wasn't just Witmann's tank that ate it! The commander of the tank is telling the Infantry where to go, while the AT gun (7.5cm PAK 40) crew sets up. They still need to be painted. The Tiger is Dragon, the figs are Verlinden, the road is Dry Wall, and the groundwork is Celluclay covered in various shades of Verlinden's grass. The Park wall is by Verlinden aswell, and the trees are woodland scenics

looks pretty good! Looks like you did a very nice job painting the figures. On the tank commander though, Im not sure the germans ever issued caom like that. Have you thought about adding the pea pattern on it? Overall though, looking quite good. What figs are you waiting for dagon to come out with?

Im planning on doing a dio with the 101ss pz abt, in their more fortunate days, like right around whittmans infamous attack.

Progress on my dio. I finished up all of the figs last night. Well glueing. They have all the accessories on them etc. I think a few need some putty, and a couple need gun straps. Still waiting for my building to arrive. Its been like 2 months! Angry [:(!]

I will be adding the balsa sides to the base today, glue the drywall down and smaybe even start groundwork. I also want to get the figs primed.

Dragon is comming out with a new kit called "Germania France 1940" It's one of their new Gen-2 kits, so a thousand pieces for six or so guys... I think you're right about the commander's cammo,
