WWII Carrier Aircraft Design GB (Starts Now -- Ends November 30, 2006)

Hey guys!!

Been abcent for a while, but now i'm back.

At the moment i couldn't get the Dauntless for the GB and if at the beggining date still haven't the model, i think i'll go for scratch built with wood and styrene.

I made some progress in my Hellcat, but my conection is to slow now and cannot send the pics of the almost finished cockpit (that are finished allready) to Jay so he could post them here.  Tehe fuse is allready  glued toguether and also the wings are glued to the fuse and ready for some putty in the joints.

Hey fellas

No worries Woove, i was buisy miself all last week, untill yesterday, taking a Class 1 kiteboarding instructor training, to work at a school a guy from Spain will open here, for tourists.

As soon as i can, i'll send more pics to Jay, cause i would like to share my work and get your critics to learn more fom the masters

Daniel, it would be great to see your progress on your Avenger.

Ahhhhhh!!! Almost forgot...I'm very happy cause beside finishing the course with great scores, my friend will travel to France next week, for a couple of days and will bring me my SBD or maybe a Zero.  Let's see what comes out of this

Cool pics Leon, thanks for posting them up, i had no idea P-47s had ever taken off from a carrier before......

BTW Build Change, I've decided to try to diminish the stash  a little in 2006 and build some kits that i already have rather than buying all new ones so i'm gonna build my AM Avenger wearing maybe the Atlantic scheme for this GB

Wooverstone8 you can put me do as a fer sure.  I just ordered the Hobby Craft British Commonwealth Corsair.  I'll be doing it as Lt Hammy Gray's bird when he was postumously awarded the VC for attacking and sinking a Japanese destroyer on his own.

Nice. I'll be interested in hearing how the fm-2 goes. I have only done the tamiya wildcat, but would like to do a different version than the f4f-4. Exciting stuff...

hey yall!!!  I haven't been around for awhile.. so much stuff going on with Xmas, getting the roof fixed and building a tank with more little pieces than I thought possible!

Leon - I'd be interested in an other than F4F-4 variant too... I've modded the Tamiya kit to a Martlett III and Martlett IV, which would be equiv to the F4F-3a and F4F-4b.  I know there are resin conversion kits out there but I don't like to do too much sawing and cutting on a kit yet until I can get some more building skills under my belt.

I forgot what I put myself down for in this GB but that's likely to change as I get closer in to the start date.  I might do an Atlantic schemed SBD... I've seen a lot of pics of that grey over white scheme recently, and I am developing a fondness for it!

Pingy--  I know.. every AccMin build I have done has taken weeks for the cockpit, a week or two for the rest, (with steady building) ...

but ya gotta love all that detail before you close the fuselage and none of it can be seen!
