I do really hate to be the guy peeing in the pool. I appreciate good camaderie on the forum as much as everyone else, but not this Kremps thing. Let it go.
It's kicked the bucket. It has ceased to be. It is an ex-joke.

This is Wooverstone's GB, and he can set the rules.

Karl i agree and furthermore i'd like to add that during the BoB GB, Midway and the NA GB it wasn't post after post of Kremp talk, The Na GB alone had 18 finished models which speaks for itself...........
However if this is going to be a problem then i myself will not mention the Old Girl again and stick strickly to modeling because i'm not going to drop out of this GB and i don't want to be responsible for Arki30 dropping out.........
Now having said that I'd like to ask whether or not any of you fellows has an idea which of the 2 Swordfish actually dropped the torpedo which jammed the Bismarks rudder.........

We did have this discussion, I forgot. Well, I don’t want anyone to leave this GB and also a huge distraction (W/Kremps)may result in poor turn out in finish models for this GB , If that were to happen there would be almost purpose for this build then. Will have to ask Kremps to leave politely. Sorry Kremps…

I couldn't agree more. Which is why I offered to bow out the first time instead of being the guy bitchin and moanin through the build. In hindsight perhaps I was a bit passive-aggressive about the whole thing. My apologies to Wooverstone and everyone else. I have no desire to impose my set of rules or views on anyone as this is a public forum and an enjoyable one at that.
But, that doesn't change my opinion about this running gag called Kremps. It's not funny anymore. It was for several pages. Several GB's and pages upon pages later it's not.
Anyway, do what you want. I've expressed my opinion, but I refuse to be the guy who ruins anyone's fun. I'm not dropping out of this thing even if it turns out to be a Kremps feista.

Roll on the 1st of March then, when the modelling begins.
Obviously I haven't a clue what I'm going to build yet.

Cool... that's big of you Arki. I've been quiet on the Kremps thing out of defference to you, and in retrospect maybe I should have said something to my comrades as they came in late. But I think we can all get along and have a fun build. As you've seen in addition of the "other" references there's been a lot of info sharing going on. I'd like to see all that continue and not have you drop out.
as you said.. Model on!!!!

Hey guys
As far as i may see, this "kremps" issue may be unconfortable and have nothing to do with modeling So i think that, still when the "building" will not start untill the 1st of March, there's a lot of research and debate to do untill then and that's also "Modeling"
I've droped in this topic, cause i knew i would find a great deal in knowledge, expirience and of course, friends, and also because the debate will represent a huge deal in learning from all of you
I know that i can surf the net, by myself, looking for info, to learn more about this "carrier planes subject", but it's far far better to "cath waves" with the companion of a band of friends and learn from theire experiene
So, as proposition; lets "Model on" as arki30 said before
Best Regards & Happy Modeling

What's going on fellas. I haven't checked in on this GB for a while. Looks like we've got a good bunch of modellers involved. Shame it all doesn't start for so long. I've got a Acc Min TBM-3 Avenger brewing at the moment, so I might post some pics of it here if it's alright with everyone (this seems like a more appropriate place for Avenger pics than the Battle for Germany thread).
Okay, now a little activity for everyone to get some interesting debate going...... What do you think is the best looking carrier based aircraft from WW2? And, if you can, post the pic you think best shows off that aircrafts beauty. I wanna see some nice pics......
And, one more thing. HAs anyone on here ever seen a TBM-3 Avenger with the tri-colour scheme, yellow cowl band and checker patterns on the rudder? I've never seen the yellow and checkers together on an aircraft, but have seen them seperately. Could look cool.

Daniel, good question, I think it might have to be the Zero, very graceful and elegant. Not like the angular and brutish looking american aircraft. Not to say I don't like the American aircraft but I think the Zero just looks nicest. The Seafire would have to be a close second, all spitfires look beautiful!
Which reminds me, anyone doing a Japanese Carrier aircraft? I don't think I saw anyone on the first page. I'm just finishing a zero for the Pearl Harbour GB so I don't realy feel like building anouther.

Great idea! This should keep the boredem down.
Well, I have to say the best looking aircraft would be the F4U-1 Corsair. The gull wings makes the plane look very beautiful, especially when it's in flight, no need to explain way. I also like birdcage canopy that the early Corsairs had.
I'll post a good picture when I find one!

wierd I thought I replied to this...
Mike -- agreed, this would be my pick... not sleek and sexy like a Spitfire or a Mustang.. not brute and powerful like the F6F... but it is a Dauntless... curvy, dependable and trustworthy... like that "Tom-boy" girlfriend who would kick someones rear if they made fun of you for dating her.

Easy...
.....Hellcat.
It just looks like it means business, and with that kill ratio, it clearly did!

I'd have to agree with both the Hellcat and Dauntless. Both are great looking aircraft to my eye. I think I'll say the SBD is my favourite WW2 carrier aircraft followed closely by the hellcat.

Great question Daniel.
I would have to say the hellcat too. However, I can't really explain why. When I look at it, it just looks right. Nothing looks goofy or out of place to my eye. For example, I really love the corsair with the gull wings, but the fuselage looks too long. Now of course I know there are reasons and very important reasons to the way planes were designed, but to my eye the perfect one is the hellcat.

Oh by the way, I made the choice / mistake of changing my username with the new system. I used to be newtothegame, but it came from a site for playing chess, so I thought it was time to switch. Anyone else make this choice and loose all of their post numbers (not that it really matters.)

Jay, It is far enough off that I will probably change my mind a few times before it starts, but right now I am thinking of a type 21 zero for this build. However, I have quite a few american carrier planes that I really want to do too (catmouth hellcat, corsair, photo hellcat, martlet) So many planes, so little time...
