Mucker, Thats a great finishBow [bow] Awsome job with the weathering the underside! Very inspiringThumbs Up [tup]

Thanks guys. I'm using the Aries detail set. It is going in very easy. If you can fit a black Box cockpit into something, this is much easier. Hopefully more will get done today. A primer coat is the goal.

Take this plastic and model it!

mucker-very nic job.  I am beginning to appriciate/enjoy building the German aircraft for the challenge of the camo schemes.

Drew-looks like you're making great progress.

Well, after reviewing the instructions, I realized that I had bungled the camo patter on the left wing (port, starboard, whatever....)Banged Head [banghead].  After fretting about if for a week, I decided to repaint that wing (after being decaled and Futured).  First I picked up a new bottle of RLM 75 (or was it 74?)...whoops, too purpleSigh [sigh].  Dug down into the paint stash (really gotta get organized one of these days...) and found the bottle I had used to begin with.  Of course, it was almost empty, but threw some thinner directly into the bottle (getting frustrated at this point) and it was a close enough match.  Then painted the wing tip RLM 74 last night.  Fortunatly, the Tamiya tape didn't pull any paint up.  Hope to get the new areas Future'd tonight and maybe an ink wash be weekend.

Sorry to hear about your trials and tribulations with your camo.  You're a brave man to go back an re-do it.  Looking forward to some pics.  Smile [:)]

I hope my seatbelts get here by the end of the week, I'm dying to move forward!  Whistling [:-^]

Bob, I know what you mean...I've shifted some of the German kits to the top of the "To Do" pile. Not only the challegne, but the vast variety of camo scheme, most of them very interesting...I'm sure as we get a few camo scheme's under our belt, we'll see the skills improving.

Keep positing pics. I can never view too many Warbirds.

Funny how that works eh?  Luftwaffe aircraft (especially the Bf109, FW190 and Me262) are the ones I don't mind building many of, even of the same variant because there are so many great camo and marking options!  Fascinating stuff, not to mention the challenge of airbrushing the complex camo schemes.  Fun stuff!  Cool [8D] Big Smile [:D]

Let's face it Scott: we're addicts.Propeller [8-]

My wife says "geeky", I say "die hard fanatic". What does she know about the Luftwaffe anyways!

I like to think of our obsession as "passion".  Wink [;)]

Speaking of wives and the Luftwaffe.... my wife impressed the hell out of a client a few months ago when she asked the guy if his license plate had anything thing to do with Focke Wulf (which it did).  That totally took him by surprise and it blew him away even more when she started talking about Focke Wulfs!  My wife really does pay attention to me!  Big Smile [:D] Angel [angel]  I tell you, my wife is a keeper!  Make a Toast [#toast]

which president was is that said, "Behind every good modeler is a good woman"? Was that Adams?

For the record, mine is as supportive as they get to my "habit". When I hinted about the upcoming Hasegawa "Complete Set" of Zero's (15 in all, 1/48 scale), she very seriously asked me if that was "on my Christmas list"!!

I've been looking over these PE seatbelts... they seem really nice and should be easy to put together.  That will add some nice detail to the seat.  Big Smile [:D]

Looking forward to some pics Drew.  Smile [:)]

I've stopped progress on my 109 for a bit, I've been trying to finish up a T-34/85 I started last year, and we've been busy with the holiday stuff.  I'm going to try and tackle the PE seatbelts and move forward next week as the tank will be finished in a day or so.

It's been slow modeling wise here. Did get the camo finished and motteling done. I got a gloss coat on and will be masking for the ID band and empanage stipes tomorrow. May even get a base white down too. I'll get pics soon as I can. Later all

Looks like alot of progress is being made on the GB! Great work guys! I've just opened the box to do some detail painting in the cockpit after a month or so of modeling downtime, I'll post pics later.

Stir not the bitterness in the cup I have mixed for myself!

Plenty of time, I extended the end date to June 2007.  I think most of us could use the extra time.  Smile [:)]

Scott-thanks for the extension.  Although I'm about 80% done, I'm in the middle of a new job, home improvement projects, middle school basketball and a couple of good books.  That and I've got the Eduard FW-190A5 due in soon......maybe two builds for this one.....nah...probably should save it for later.  The Panzer Aces GB keeps calling my name.....

Jay-Welcome back!

Hi Jay, I updated your entry on the roster, glad you're with us!  Is that a G-6, G-10 or G-14?

I know what you mean, I'm really enjoying that GB as well, it's fun doing all the research.  I'm doing some work right now on my Bf109G-14 (and my Panther for the Italeri build).  I hope to have enough progress worthy of posting some pics either this afternoon or tomorrow.  Smile [:)]
