Bummer bob.  I'll have to look at my A3 and see if I've got the same issue.  Slow going on my Bf109G-14, was busy last week finishing up my Spitfire for the BoB GB.

Scott:

If there's still room in the hangar, I'd like to join the GB. I won't start on it until December, but I've got a 1/48 Hasegawa Bf109F that is next in the que. I haven't finalized the markings, but it'll be a JG54 bird, definately an ace.

Let me know...

THanks.

Hey guys, just checking in to see how everyone is coming along.  I know a lot of you haven't started yet, there are so may great GBs going on right now.  I'm sure I'll end up extending the finish date a few months.

At any rate, I just finished painting the bathroom so now I can get back to modelling!  Cool [8D]

Interior is done and fuselage is together.  Fit is good (although tricky).  Interior fit is tricky and the nose of the fuselage doesn't really fit like I thought it would-but it is covered by the engine cowling.  Wing fit is good also-just a little gap.  Will take a little filler or sanding on the top of the fuselage.

this is kind of off topic but how do you make the Gb badges smaller?

When I get a chance, I'll post some smaller ones, either later tonight or tomorrow.  Smile [:)]

I'm almost finished hanging the new cabinets in the bathroom.  This project is almost done, then I can get back to modeling.... Sigh [sigh]

Scott & yeti-thanks

Yeti-the cockpit should be pretty visible, even with the canopy closed.  The canopy is pretty clear and the 190 has little framing, so with a coat of Future, should be good.  Always the option to leave the canopy open.  Or order a Squadron vacuform canopy.  Figure I'll just go with the kit canopy though.

The FW190 is ready for paint.  The tail and lower engine cowling were painted RLM 04 yellow last night and then taped off using Tamiya tape.  Hopefully it won't put the yellow off.  Started off with a coat of Krylon primer.  Will spray the RLM 76 tonight (maybe) and then the fun starts-upper surfaces and MOTTLE!  Still trying to determine a plan of attack for that.

The kit has been a fun build-everything has gone together as it should.  Small plane though, especially compared to the P-40 for the CBI build and the Avenger sitting on the shelf.

Looking good Bob!   Cool [8D]

Good luck with the mottling.  Thumbs Up [tup]  That's one of the hardest things to do, I'm slowly getting the hang of it myself.

Thanks Scott.  Since those pics were taken, I sprayed a 50/50 mix of RLM 76 & thinner to 'tone down' the mottle a bit more. Picked up that tip from one of the other group builds (think it was Tom        (tho9900).  Seems to have worked.  At least I'm happy with it.  I still need to practice on my mottle, but that will come with practice.....I hope....Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

OK, Scott, I'm officially opening the box and rolling up the sleeves! I'll be doing the JG54 scheme of the Bf109F flown by Oblt. Max-Helmuth Osterman on the Russian Front in 1942. Osterman ended up with 102 kills in total. It looks to be a fun kit!

Sweet!  I'm looking forward to seeing updates on your build! Smile [:)]

Progress has slowed on mine for a bit while I wrapped up some other projects.  I'll be working on it a bit from time to time this weekend, along with my P-38F and my Panther Ausf. A.

Part of the decals are on-still need to do the small stencils.  I hate doing the 'wing walk' decals!  The kit decals were very user friendly.  That and a little Solveaset works wonders.

Just so I can prove I'm actually building, here is my progress so far on the Bf109F-4. Nothing spectacular, just plastic and glue at this point. I've had some fit issue with the cowl, but at this point I attribute this to my skill, not the kit. Otherwise it's been a fast, simple build. The tough part will be the camo. If I can duplicate Bob's work I'll be happy.
