^^^This page, with pictures, about the Valentine says the 3rd New Zealand Division used some Valentines at Arakan in Burma.

Well it's looking like that's bad data. Doesn't seem like any New Zealand Tankers made it to Arakan. the 3rd NZ Div were consolidated into other NZ forces after getting bogged down in the Oceanic islands around the Solomans.

Now it's bugging me. If there were commonwealth Valentines at Arakan... Who the heck were manning them.

Torakaze,

Whoa!   Talk about some really top-notch research.  I am much oblidged sir.  Looks like I have a lot of serious reading to do before I figure out what i want to do.

It will most likely be some sort of Commonwealth armor, with me leaning towards a Grant or Lee....but i'll let you know.

Again....thanks a zillion.

badge looks great.

We'll go with it unless anyone has another suggestion, in which case we could vote on which one.

But as of now, we're going with this one.

Mind if I join? I have an Accurate Minis P-51A sitting in a box looking awful lonesome in it's unbuilt state?

After doing some research it looks like to do Barbie III Ill need to do some work.  Since there isnt a H kit made, Ill have to use a Revell J.  I didnt realize that G's were modified C or D models (looking at a picture shouldve been a clue...note to self).  So to avoid alot of working moving the upper turret forward Ill just try to mate the AM nose cone to the J body and drill 2 holes for the extra mg's Barbie has.  Im hoping this will work and look good.  Cant wait for all this to come out in the build.

Just got the ol' Monogram P-40B!  Man does that bring back the memories! Big Smile [:D]  First built this one back in the early 80's.  This time, I will probably get a better end result!  I also have be True Details Cockpit set, and a set of decals from AeroMaster. Smile [:)]

The start of this will work out great as I can finish up some other GBs first. Big Smile [:D]

My P-40N arrived the other day.  There was a tender, sad moment as I longingly stared at the box, wishing to see it build before my eyes.

And then I realized we still have over a month to go before this GB starts, so I hurriedly stashed that sucker away before I fell victim to temptation.

well... where were the markings applied? If they were applied in the CBI area you're still good to go.

I haven't been able to model for 4 months now, and have another week or two to go.  Yep moving is a stressful time, and what was supposed to be a few hundred £ of minor repairs to one room, has ended up as a whole house £6,000 nightmare!  Amazing how as you fix one thing, you find it hides something else... (just don't ever mention the lighting, that was, well, interesting shall we say?)

Hence, all my supposed GB participation is nil.  However....I'm fired up, raring to go, and, yep, adding my name to another GB!  I've got a P-40, of the AVG.  It's an old Academy/Minicraft 1/72 offering.  Not sure what the colour scheme is.  The instructions just say brown and green, and say to look at the box art.  Nice that the box top is a different colour to the box side!  Any clues anyone?

Anyway,  count me in!  Not going to be able to start for a wee while, as need to finish other GB first, but I'll be there, eventually!

There's that new 1/24 P-47 coming out soon.  That should be awesome, but recon no RSF CBI decals for it, at least for a while.
