Usually not done that way, most post pic's in the thread and others comment, etc. you can also post individually in the proper thread for the subject being built, but final decision is up to Kenny

i agree with you john. we will keep it to one thread because eventually we will all be commenting on the work done and it will basically be duplicate threads.

Alrighty then.  Here's my beginning.  It's not much, but since i'm almost finished with my Jill, I'll be able to start hittinh this one more.  As you can see, I started with a black primer and then went over with a flat white primer.  Since this has raised panel lines, I'm hoping the black undercoat will help.  My next step will be the IP and cockpit.

Would it be too late to get in on this build? I would like to build the 1/35 CH-47D. I am not sure if I can get some Big Windy decals.... but I'll damn sure try.

Never to young to get'um started.

Got my cockpit/cabin together and ready for painting, had to do a little filing and sanding to enclose areas that do not exist on the real OH-58, not a bad kit overall

Photo's are not the best, need to get my other camera back from my son, it's better for close-up photo's

hey john nice to see you are underway. you are exactly right never too young to get em started. hopefully he enjoys it as he grows up and he will have something to do to keep him out of trouble lol . just finishing up my base and back onto the hummer hope to see more from you all :)

the only thing i have to find for my hummer is a third figure which for some reason tamiya left out should be driver gunner and tc they only give two so i have to find one more if anyone knows of a modern g.i. in a sitting postion would be appreciated .

I let my 5 year old flush out my airbrush when i'm done painting.  My 3 year old twins like shaking the paint for daddy.  They don't know that they are old testors paint that i don't use, but it makes them feel involved.  Will post some pics tomorrow.  Tonight i'm finishing up the seats and untaping the fuselage. ( fingers crossed that it glued well)

lol mist i think that s kennys favorite part too shaking the bottles . it reminds me of how i got into modeling sitting there for hours watching and doing whatever he would let me so i guess it is a little family tradition being passed down :)

My son used to watch me when he was old enough to stand and then he started to build, he's not building too much right now because of work, his kids and lack of room, but wants to start again. My grandkids like to look at my builds when they come over, hope when they get a little older they will start too. All three like airplane including the two girls, and they enjoy going to airshows and Pima Air and Space when we go there.

Got the fuseluge glued together, now have to clean them up, should take to long, in the background you can see the AH-1T I started also, needed something to help keep me busy while I wait for MRC to send me a replacement for a mis-molded half of the tailboom on my 58.

Hope everone has a good Veterans Day tomorrow, they are usually bitter-sweet for me(remembering friends no longer with us), so let's each of us raise a toast to them tomorrow.

John - been a long time!!!  I haven't been on much lately but good to see ya!

yeah it's all bittersweet at times but after it's all over I always realize how special of a fraternity I belong to... glad to have served with you, even if it was more than a decade apart... just had the veterans day thing at work, it kinda surprised me... it was nice to catch up with some shipmates I just met today... ironically it was as if we had known each other for a long time.. (you know what I mean)

Carry on carrying on... and I'll be thinking about ya this Veterans Day...

BTW:  I havent built anything in a bit but seeing those choppers has me Jones'in to get that 1/48 Sea Knight and do it up right!  the '53 is too much for me right now as I am in a modeling block...

Talk to you later shipmate!  (honorary of course! Wink [;)])

Hi Tom and thanks, been wondering how you were. Have had that old block myself at times, you will get back in the hang of it again.

Things have changed for me(no more work), I retired because of my health problems, but now I can really try to reduce the size of my stash along with babysitting my grandadkids

Finally got some other builds out of the way and have settled on building an A-4F. It's a 1/32 Hasegawa of 70's vintage but still not to bad. It's also moving along quite fast by my standards. Have the front office finished and the fuselage and wings finished except for sanding, which will happen tonight  urrggghhhh. This bird will be a VC-12 scooter from the reserves stationed at Oceana in Va Beach Va. Here's some shots of the front office  and might have some more tomorrow.

Thanks for looking.
