Gday Dan

I am still around just finishing of an IJN 1/700 Cruiser and I will be back into the Eboat.

Hopefully next week.

Cheers

Hehe, still waiting eagerly Smile [:)]

As for myself, I have been taking a long leaf on the KM (doing some other projects in between), but I will be back, since my darling wife has been nagging when I'll do some work on that nice little boat again Smile [:)]

Good to see some activity on this great thread.

Yes Dan I believe you need to invest in that kit.

Hello, Mark,

The Revell S-100 is a very nice kit, even OOB if given some love and care during construction.  Of course, adding aftermarket PE brings this boat way up to the next level, but as said by mr Jeff Herne himself, even OOb this can be a showstopper.

As for a crew, I'm afraid I can only guess that Preiser would have something compatible, or you could use the aftermarket crew for the Revell U-Boot 1/72, at that scale you couldn't probably make out wether they wear u-boot insignas or other stuff. U-boot crews are manufactured by both, Andrea and CMK.

Anyway, feel free to grab the Kriegsmarine GB badge and join our little group Smile [:)]

I picked up a Revell S-100 schnellboot. This will be my first ship in over 20 years. Is there anyone who makes figures for this kit? I could have sworn that I had found some on the web but now I can't remeber where. Also is the kit fine OOTB or is it really worth buying the PE for it. That cost more than the ship.

Thanks in advance,

                       Mark

Hey, Forboy, I agree that they look pretty cool, although no photographic evidence exist that they were ever used.  I didn't put them on, because I thought the aft deck look like a neat place to put the inflateables too (looks more logicals than having to tilt the boats over the torpedo tubes in a hurry).

Looking forward to your next progress.

Anyway, since this GB is kind of never ending, I'll sure be ordering the new Revell 1/350 Bismarck as soon as it hits the shelfs.  If you haven't checked out the Revell website (Gallery for the pictures) you should do so.

I am working away on the depth charges.

I know there is much discussion/opinion over whether or not they were used etc

But hey I reckon they look pretty cool.

So here is some pictures of progress:

Oke, just couldn't wait to add a couple of pictures...

On the above pictures you can see the bridge, two remarks here :

- you don't see a wheel : this is no lack in the kit, those boats were steered from inside the armoured wheelhouse, which of course since it's completely invissible when built, is not detailed,

- as there is no kit on the market that has no mistakes, the doors are wrong, the kit represents sliding doors as on the S-38 types, however the S-100 had normal opening doors, no sliding, but as this part of the ship won't be very vissible either, I won't bother with this error.

On the aft deck, there are placements for 4 smoke pods, however this number varried on individual vessels, so I decided to remove the two innermost placements...

Some more sanding will be required of course. Smile [:)]

On the lower hull :

Water in- and outlets as well as exhausts are represented on the kit by bulges, unacceptable, let the dremel come...

More to come...

Just a word on the wheelhouse, I didn't bother myself, but if you want it more accurate, you should make a second door for the startboard side of it.

As for me, yesterday I've started on the Revell 1/72 S-100, pictures will follow later Smile [:)]

PS : that latest project you mentioned is called : Align T-Rex 450 XL

Hello, guys, sorry I haven't been around much lately...

Sorry to loose you on this GB, Scott, but one has to do what one has to do I guess, Fordboy, it's good to see another S-boot taking shape, you're certainly on the right track here, mate.

The reason I haven't been here much lately is this little projects I'm trying to get up and flying...

Hey guys, I'm sorry to say I'm going to have to drop out of this GB.  I'm nowhere near being able to start on my Bismarck, heck I don't think I'd be able to start it until well after this GB is over.  I'll still monitor the thread and have been enjoying watching the other builds.  Smile [:)]
