Nice looking build so far Yeti. My cat just likes to watch most of the time.

Dan could I change my builds to the Hasegawa 1/700 U Boat VIIC/IXC? Right now I don't have alot of time and I don't know if I can get the ships done in time thanks.

Lookd good Yeti.  Your observer looks just like mine, except he ins't a watcher, he's a mover and shaker.

I'm about 25% away from completion on my Bismark, yet again have come to a complete stop for other projects.

I also got a new camera so I should gets some pics here soon.

It was sprayed on about a year ago when I knew nothing.  Since my hull was broken I had to use an old moddel's. It was sprayed. what grit sandpaper would you sugest I tried 600 on a skrap and it skrached the paint?

The only way in my opinion to get rid of the ridge, is carefully sanding... However it is ofcourse better not to have a ridge to begin with Smile [:)]

Did you airbrush along the mask, or was it brushpainted ? If you aribrushe along a mask, you should spray from the direction where the mask is toward the unmasked part, that way the paint doesn't have that much chance of building up. Another hint concerning masks is to prevent bleeding you can first spray or paint some colorless layer (Future for instance).

how do you get rid of the ridge of paint that is created when you mask off paint?

I found a solution to the smashed bow.  Tear off the hull from an old bismarck kit.  It is the same hull

I had some time off yesterday and decided to spend most of my convenience building the aircraft carrier "Seydlitz". Here are some very detailed pictures of "Seydlitz" completed hanger deck. In the last picture you can see the unique camouflage scheme I added to the hull. I used Tamiya Acrylics--Dark Sea Grey, Field Grey and Dark Grey. Since the "Seydlitz" was never completed there is no way of finding out the planned camouflage scheme for this ship. So I went with this "what if camouflage" scheme instead. I didn't want to paint the ships hull in an ordinary gray.

Comments are welcome.

Looking good wooverstone, look forward to seeing it done.

Well I would have started more painting today. But the sky decided to snow and its just to cold to airbrush in the garage.

Thanks Woverstone. My building as hit a rock, life got in the way. Yet I was able to paint the deck on the Scharnhorst

The next step is to mask the deck now.

Nice and fast progress frogfoot. I could also use a step to step guide to ship painting since this is my first ship model. this guide would be very helpful indeed.

Very nice and clean build David.  Now please, when you are ready to paint it, describe all the steps.  I'm still scratching my head.  Thanks.
No matter where you go ....... there you are.

Thanks wooverstone!

Here are a few more pics of the Sharnhorst. I have most of the bridge done, not every thing is fixed yet. Now I will paint the deck I believe this weekend. So now it is back to working on the Tirpitz

Thanks guys for your comments.

Dancooper - Sorry to hear about your setback. You'll make a quick fix!

Frogfoot - Looks like you got a good start there! It's nice to see a comparison between the Scharnhorst and the Tirpitz.

Scharnhorst not much done yet

Tirpitz

And here they are together. Note the cats at the top of the table.

Welcome aboard, FrogFoot, I've edited the list of participants on the first post Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

Small setback for my S7 though...  the kids here have been playing with PicooZ's (tiny RC helicopters) and one of them has crashed on the railing, surrounding the AA gun, so I'll have to remove it's remaing parts and replace it with wire.

Wooverstone, that looks like you've got yourself into a hell of scratchbuilding project there, it's really starting to look good Thumbs Up [tup]

Hey everybody,

All your models look great! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. My parents are getting divorced, so modeling sort of took a backseat. I won't have any progress pictures for a while since no progress can be made until my mother and I move out. I packed all of the modeling supplies, paints, kits, tools, etc. into boxes and am just waiting to find a new place. Hope to start up again real soon!

Hope everything works out for you and we will be here waiting for you to return.

Scott, who hasn't been near his workbench for two weeks.
