If it isn't complete, than it's ok to join, but otherwise I'm afraid you'll need to built another KM subject. Wink [;)]

Here are the pics of my small update, the stanchions have been placed and wired, however I'm not really happy with the thread I used for the railings, since after painting they turn out to be "fuzzy"...

BTW, Yeti I hadn't noticed it before, but that swastika on the foredeck of your Bismarck, is that a decal or did you make it yourself ?  The reason I ask is because it on the picture I see the orriginal swastika as used thousend of years ago, but the nazis used it "mirrored"

Hi Dan

I actually love the box art of this kit always have since around 1975.  Showing my age again.

Its this box art which inspired my long held interest/passion in S Boats.

Anyway it took a fair amount of work to tidy the workbench just to get the box on it.  LOL

I am just finishing a IJN Izusu at the moment and I will be into the E Boat. Watch this space.

Nice work on the box, Sean Wink [;)]

I have to admit that indeed this GB had lost some of its momentum around the hollidays, but it seems that at least some of us found their way back here.

Anyway, welcome back, Sean I hope to see your version of the S-boat soon Thumbs Up [tup]

Hi Guys

Well I am still here.  I have been working on my E-Boat but I do not have any recent photos.

I have to admit that I lost focus when the Group Build seem to lose momentum at one stage.

But here is the box sitting on my workbench.

I will update you with some pictures shortly.

Regards

Sean

Thanks for the comments, guys, unfortunately I haven't had as much time this week as I antecipated, but I hope to finish her tomorrow, after work.

Nice work on your behalfe as well, yeti, are we really the only ones left from the orriginal crew on this GB ? If so, I guess we deserve an Iron Cross or somethink like that Smile [:)]

Ah, well, still time enough for the rest of the crew to get back on their work I suppose.

Unfortunately, dr Heinlein's books haven't been reissued here for quiet a few years now, so I'm kind of depending on second hand book shops or garage sales, and at the moment I only have one of his books (The Number of the Beast) and one of his short stories in another compilation. Disapprove [V]

Today, I started rigging the boat, after adding the mast and some more thingies, here're the pics of todays progress...

It looks like I'm really getting close to completion now, but not to worry, I still have a S-100 and a Type XXI in my stash Smile [:)]

Small update : today I painted the remaining horizontal surfaces Humbrol 27 (like the rest of the deck), the wooden steps were painted...err, wood and everything in light grey got a (black) acrylic filter, while the hull itself also got a bit dirtier. Since I'm trying to keep it a little subtle, I'm not sure all this filtering and dirtying will show on a picture, we'll see that tomorrow I guess.

Thanks for the comments, the last few days, I haven't been able to work much on it, but one more day at work and I've got three days off, not to mention I have early shift next week, I think I'll be able to finnish her by the end of next week Smile [:)] (minus a display that is)

BTW, Yeti, if you allow the subjects of the SubGB to be "shared" with other GB's, I'm in with a type XXI sub...

Here's my update, I managed to get the, for me, most scary looking job done. Painting the deck in dark gray, scary because of all those obstacles to paint around and under. Since I had no idea to where to start masking, I just plunged in, took the only flat brush I had and started with it, without masking.

Some touching up will be needed though...

Really impressive, Yeti, that PE sure makes a huge difference.

Anyway, here's a picture of the repaired part of the railing...

As you may notice, the bulged area at the corner is still missing, but as this is only about a third of a millimeter, I was thinking of solving this by applying some masking tape and put a couple of extra layers of paint on the corner part.

Oh, one more thing, although no photographic evidence exists that one of the S-7 type boats actually was equiped with the depthcharge dispensers as supplied with the Airfix kit, I have decided to mount them because of the "busier" looks of the rear deck.

Wile looking through my Revell U-boat box I found something rather interesting some decal signal flags so I will be including them in my battleship spelling out my name.

Finally got to repair the broken piece around the AA mount on the aft deck, I'll upload pictures of this later (today). And.... while shopping for the 1mm rods for the repairs, I just couldn't resist the temptation of the Revell 1/72  S-100 Smile [:)]

Frogfoot, it's ok to build the Hase 1/700 Type VIIC if you have more time for that project...

Fantastic work Yeti!

I'll bet you get very nervous anytime the cat enters the room.  I have to shut the door to my den sometimes as without warning my two cats will blitz into the room and jump up to be right in front of my face, regardless of whether or not I'm at my desk or at the paint booth.  Shock [:O]
