Thanks for the kind words, jwb, and thanks once again for the kit, flippersdad, it has been a super build that I have thoroughly enjoyed!  Should have it completed in a day or two at most!

AM does make some nice stuff- I've built that one myself and really enjoyed it. Look forward to the final pics!

Well, the P-51A is nearly completed!  Here are a couple more prog pics - I still need to put on the exhaust stains, gunsmoke stains, oil leaks, etc and dull cote.  This is my first Acc Min build, and I am sold on their kits!  I have several others in the stash, and I'm looking forward to building them, too! Comments and constructive criticism welcome, as always, and thanks for looking!

Thanks Drew, think I have gunship gray (who doesn't these days Wink [;)]) in my color stash so I'll give it a try.

Edit: Checked: no GunshipGray. So I guess I'll have to go to the hobby shop!

UPDATE: I cut some parts off the trees and primed the cockpit pieces. My Bf-109 E-4 looks to be a sweet bird. This one might take awhile because college is kicking me where the sun doesn't shine, so it looks like only late nights on the weekends will be build time. When I get some colors in the cockpit, i'll show you all!

There's some real good modelling going on, here ... and some bad focus! (Big Smile [:D] just kidding)

As for me I started working on the Henschel, but progress it not worth posting: just put the PE parts in the "Büro" (office in german!).
BTW instructions say the cockpit has to be in RLM066 dark green-gray. I lack this color in my stash so I was thinking to give it a coat of dark green, wash with black and dry brush with grey (maybe "feldgrau"); do yuo guys think it would give the same effect?

Gentlemen,

I have done a little research on Hippy-Ed's camera and contacted him via email.  For every one else's information:  His camera does not have a macro setting and the camera is a fixed focus.  Therefore he is going to struggle quite a bit to get good photos.

Hippy-Ed:  Remember no closer than 40 inches to the subject and use the digital zoom.

In the words of my old High School Photography Teacher (long before digital cameras even came about);

"I see a picture there, and I don't see your face."   Laugh [(-D]

The beauty of a digital camera is that you can review your photo, and delete it if you don't like it.  I'd try the 'macro' setting on your camera if you have that setting.  Then you can get up close to your model.  Again, it's digital, so you can delete it if you don't like the results.  I would also try a plain background (no clutter, one or two colors only) to try on your next photos.  Just keep at it, the more you do, the better you'll get (just like model building).

Here's a couple more pics of my P-51B. I laid down some flat black on the panel lines and shot Neut. Gray on the belly. What do y'all think so far?
