Nice job on the 202 Jim. Well done, especially with a lot of firsts on this build.

Really turned out nice. Great work Jim!
Glad you liked this bird and the "challenges" it came with.

Agree to make the Secret Santa GB an annual event.

She's Done!!! She's Done!!!.  Hey all.  I finally finished my Macchi bird.  This build was a build of firsts.  My first putty job.  My first camo pattern.  First free hand airbrushing.  My first completed group build.  Many thanks to Klaus for picking this bird for me.  I had a lot of fun building this and seeing the other outstanding builds in this build.  We really need to make this an annual thing.  As always please let me know what you think and where i can improve.  I like to know where my weaknesses are and you are the guys to help me.  Thanks for letting me be a part of this.  This plane will always remind me of you guys when i look at it from now on.  So without further ado, on the the pics.

I too have been a little bogged down with work and life in general. I have managed to get most of the interior of the C-47 painted and all it needs now is a little detail work and a wash and then I can button the fuselage up. I will post photos when the interior is done.

Well fine then Tongue [:P]

I have started on the Gekko. But a nasty twist of fate to a relatively simple build came my way. This sucker has the nastiest warp to the fusalage I have ever seen. I will post a pic later. I tried every trick in the bag to corect the warp, but it just wouldn't get to anything near usable. I thought about forcing the two together and just gluing it, but that put a twist in the whole thing. I have tried to contact Tamiya about this, but nothing will be done. I am going to have to slice the fusalage at the point of the warp and glue the the fusalage together in three pieces and fill the gap left by the saw cut after.  Ah the joys of being a modeler (notice I didn't throw it in the trashLaugh [(-D])

Take this plastic and model it!

Thanks for the info.  Maybe I'll print a little out and make a shadow box with the bird

Great idea. Great mean of divulgation.
I didn't know about this pilot and should be ashamed of that for many reasons: I'm an Italian like he was, I am roman like he was and he was an air force officer like my father was!
Any how reading about capt. Lucchini and his aircraft I'm considering building that plane, too.

Made a little resarch and found out that your aircaft is correct. It was flown by Captain Franco Lucchini an italian ace. One wing was taken from another aircraft thus the differen camo scheme!

Here's something about the pilot:

Eventually I managed to make some progress worth of that name; office is almost done (stick needs a little black):

Yeah- I've gotta get to gettin'! Between being sick for over a week, and catching up at work, I've not had any time to build. I've gotta get my P-40C finished that my son gave me, and then jump on the Spitfire Mk. IX for this GB.
