my first post in ages... Things in life have gotten in the way, including a distraction from the modeling craze caused by my RC heli... I have gotten working on the Abrams once more. The chassis is nearly complete and just need decals and a few fiddly bits. After that, its mounting the MGs weathering and stowage.

I'm sure I'm leaving out something... something that will complicate things beyond description and will kick back the estimated time of completion about 2 weeks...

I'm not sure of which to do first, the stowage or the weathering. The weathering i suppose. Im going to have a hell of a time making 852 ammo cans. Hopefully I will have time to finish this and my M997 Ambulance HMMWV and the Sherman. grrr so many things i wanna do so little time

If my My 2 cents [2c] matter any........  My vote is for you to build this as part of the "Russian Front" winter '42.  Have fun with the kits! The 251/1 provides lots of opportunity to add details (some of it is required).

We need to come up with a good name for the "sickness" that we will have when we call in sick! Whistling [:-^]  It needs to sound serious; maybe a bit contagious; and we need to have a 'doctor' say that the 'sickness' takes 5 - 7 days (at least) to run it's course.  No skin type stuff (unless you don't mind painting your face while you paint the current project).

Hey guys, I started my build! I started Friday after I completed my A-10... and I'm almost done. Who knew I wouldn't want to spend much time on a HobbyCraft Humvee? I already painted it and am halfway through piecing it together. I really did not want to mask the windows after I glued it. I guess after this I will have to go to my #2 which happens to be the Crusader... which I'm not sure if I still own... eek. Well then the Tiger I! I will have some progress/finished pictures tomorrow or the next day. Today was riddled with painting the few detail parts of the kit. But hey, it's a Humvee, I'm not complaining!

Welcome to the build, southern. Kenny, I'm not sure it's necessary to ask, I'm pretty sure we'd never turn anyone away. The more the marrier! (or less food, one of the two. We could always eat TGregory if need be)

Nuts!

Slowest.  The fastest builder award has already been given to Wingnut.  Or at least I think Kenny gave him an award.  I'm too lazy to flip back through the thread pages.

Edit: Dang! Kenny, you beat me to it.  I typed tooooo slooooowwww.

Tony

I concour on all of the above (okay, okay... the third point is optional) Thumbs Up [tup]

Although this is a little unorthodox for this particular GB...sure, why not!  I'm agreeable to a new participant.

I dunno about claiming the Turtle award just yet, Tony.Wink [;)]  Kenny is very much in the running just by the nature of what he is building.  A 1/350th carrier in 6 months or less?  Plus all the others who haven't checked in awhile?  If I was a betting man (and I'm not), this is still too close to call. Dead [xx(]

I say that 'late commers' to this GB as NOT in the running for the Turtle award.  Maybe we need to add some 'shame' to the Turtle award. Laugh [(-D]  Any ideas?

I haven't tried the glue & tissue idea yet on the rear gun station of my B-25G.  I have been trying to get my F-16 (long over due for that GB) completed.

Made some major progress on my Abrams the past two days. Here are a few pictures of it.

I need to add and paint a few things yet, but if I am lucky I might be done in two days.

The Fireball, she's a commin'. The fuselage halves (without locating pins) went together like a good dream. Only a little putty around the stabilizers (?). The twenty-five cent piece size motor was 21 pieces and another 18 scratch built pushrods. On the web I found photos with the canopy interior green and also flat black and also sea blue Dunce [D)] What's a guy goona do with so many options?
