thanks for the good feedback guys.  The floor was cast with a pretty good texture so I airbrushed with MM wood then did a black wash.  After that i used a thicker wash of floquill? greasy grey for the oil spots and then went back over it with black wash to define the planks and then topped it off with a grey'd raw sienna dry brush to highlight wear areas.

Ask and it shall be so! Big Smile [:D]

The decks are not glued down, I'm just assembling some of the main structures and then I'll paint them before putting all those little porthole windows in. Yuck [yuck]

Paul, looks like a fun build.  I'm looking forward to the build up of that one.

Dave looking goodThumbs Up [tup] howmany porthole windows are there? they look like they will be a pain.

Got some bench time last night woo!!!, hoo!!!,  so filler and sanding plus test fitting of the wings was the order of the evening.  Here is a pic of the Thud so far

I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the cockpit, even with the canopy closed it looks pretty bare.  I've got some bits in the spare pts box that should work, that will be the next phase of the project.

Cheers

Bear, I agree, painting is sometimes a bit of a gamble. It sometimes doesn't turn out quite as expected. Usually a seam that was invisible before turns out to be the size of Grand Canyon. I get the same with some photos - looks good to the eye and a real dog on a photo.

Is that a line of filler running from front to back? What kit is that F-5? I am doing a 1/72 Esci Canadian F-5 slow time. The kit has a suprising amount of detail actually. Just got to order 3 different shades of blue for the camo at some point.

Dave, coming along nicely. Can't wait to see it finished. I have a couple of 1/700 ships in my stash and hope to get them done someday - when I can get my head around how to paint them. It will be interesting seeing your progrss shots to see the order you do things in.

Paul Yes that's a seem line from nose to tail, this is not one of Hasagawa's best  I heard that Trumpeteer is going to issue a 1/72 F-105D & G  I hope it's a new molde and not a recycled version of this one.  As for my F-5's they're both ESCI a CF-5A & B, your right they do have quite a bit of detail. I'm goint to make the "A" from 433 Sqn stationed at CFB Bagotville and the "B" from 419 Sqn CFB Cold Lake.  I'd also like to try the B in the 3 tone agressor scheme, I'd see them often when I worked transient servicing at CFB Montreal  and found them cool.

Cheers

Paul, I can't wait to figure it out myself Confused [%-)]  I've done a couple of dozen 1/700 scale ships in the past and it is always difficult to figure out how to appraoch the painting because the structure and decking are different for each one and it takes a bit of thought (something I've never been very good at) to figure out the proper order for the painting.  This is the first large scale ship I've tackled so it will be interesting to see how it evolves.

Bear, hope I get to see some photos of those F5's when they are done.  Growing up in Winnipeg I would always see them and the F18's visiting the air base on their way to or from somewhere.  In my 20's I had an apartment directly in the flight line just south of the airport. Big Smile [:D]

Isn't it funny how some people would consider that a BAD thing?  LOL

I live near Hill AFB so F-16's, A-10s, even the occasional F-22 go screaming
over our house all the time.  My lady thinks it's the most annoying sound ever,
while I usually run to the window to drool and enviously watch them zoom by!

Zooming by? that is a strange wording for an A-10. I herd a story of an A-10 pilot who let his flaps down and thought he had flammed out.

Dave and Marc - nice work thus far.

I am having some problems getting a hold of good reference photos for an Admirable class mineseeper. Any suggestions?

Razor - To answer your question about the colors I used on the Snowberry were.  Camo white for most of the ship.  Dark sea grey below the water line.  For the camo scheme I used intermediate blue and seafoam green.  Both the blue and green i grey'd down to nock down the tone a little and also get the tones to match a little better.  Before I mixed the grey in the two colors just looked funny together.

Glad to see people posting pics.  I love to see what and how everybodies doing.  Really like what  I have seen so far.  Keep up the great work.

I have gotten most of the cab built on my choo choo and man... I't like a whole model to it's self.  Its gotta have well over a hundred parts just in/on the cab.

I come to a serious delay at the factory; Angry [:(!] Banged Head [banghead]

F-14 for that GB, waiting for the airbrush team

F-16 for that GB, waiting for the airbrush team

P-38 for the South Pacific GB, waiting for the airbrush team

P-400 for the Secret Santa/P-39 GBs, waiting for the airbrush team

Still not sure of what to build for the CBI theather GB

The other GB that I am in don't start for awhile yet

Airbrush Team waiting Whistling [:-^] for the completion of the table top spray booth. Banged Head [banghead] Which is dependant upon the Financial Office releasing more funds Banged Head [banghead]

So, I went to get started on the 1:48 Accurate Miniatures B-25G as voted by many of you.  I had opened the kit prior, and had looked over things.  But HOLY COW BATMAN! Shock [:O]  This kit is not what I anticipated! Shock [:O]  What detail! [tup]  I have spent two hours just reviewing all 198+ parts & painting masks, the 26 page instruction book (yes, I will have to read those this time), and the options for the aircraft!  I now know why many of you hold Accurate Miniatures in high regard!

I have decided to build this OOB, as the "Little Joe" B-25G.

So far, I have not even picked up a paint brush, or the glue.  Still trying to get a 'plan of attack' worked out on this one.  This is going to take me some time to build!

mph34 - I hear you about AccMin kits, they are intense.  My Avenger is going to take some time to work through, but the detail is just fantastic.

RMV - That cab is a kit in and of itself.  I love the detail!

Paul, you are doing a heck of a job buddy! Approve [^]Thumbs Up [tup]       You are actually tempting me into buying this kit......

After looking up at my Panzer IV D (which I already build a few years ago, never completed and is now a test subject), I might get a PE set to add some flavor to it.   I still have to find a solution to detail the underside, which is bare.......
