Nice TG!   It's been a long week for me too but I definitely hope to get some modeling done this weekend.  The wife is out of town and the kids are all tuckered out from a party last night!

Paul, what have read is true, Future can be used to simulate the glass face on an instrument.  I don't think it will affect the paper, but it may soak in and not get very shiny.  Since you say" paper"... are you using a PE instrument panel?  If so, get yourself some Krystal Klear.  Fill each open face with that and it will dry clear leaving a nice "glass" face.  The pics below in order are... wet, dry and finished.  I use the Krystal Klear on kit IPs too, whether painted or decaled instruments.  It leaves a thicker coat of clear.

Paul, I have used future for instrument panels as well and I like the effect.  This is a 1/72 scale p-51 IP so not much detail on the dials but you get the picture.  I would try a couple of tests on paper as I do not know how it would affect the inks or how it would soak into the paper.  An application of artist's fixative may help to prevent the inks from running.

I wish there was a dog house.  My wife lets our 2 mutts sleep on our bed.

It's the couch for me usually but I finished the spare room now so I live in comfort when she's mad !

There once was a modeller who found himself in need of some super glue to complete a project , undoubtly a Lindberg minesweep in 1/125 scale needing some pe, so he braved the snow and ice and drove over to a Target store to get some. While he was looking through the hardware section and appearing confused one of the Target floor staff came over to offer her help. She was beautiful, her voice was music to his ears and it was love at first sight . She helped our modeller find the super glue and inquired of what it was for. His eyes brightened when he learned that she enjoyed modelling as well , her current project was the Tamiya 1/350 Tirpitz with all the am she could find - this was truly a match made in heaven. As they were walking to the check out lanes our modeller slipped and fell as he had not wiped the snow and slush off of his shoes. Reaching forward to break his fall he forgot the super glue he was holding. He fell hard, breaking the package of super glue and getting it all over his right hand, and he wacked his head on the floor as well . Our Target floor staffer worried that her new found love had hurt himself badly knelt down to help him up also forgetting about the super glue getting it on her right hand as well. Our dazed modeller places his glue dripping right hand on her left arm, and she her right hand on his. The forgotten glue set as they made sure all was well with each other and confessed their new found love for each other. And all the people in the Target knew that the were stuck on each other for good.

The moral of the story - Always wipe your shoes on the mats as you enter a building, and stick with your honey - washes off easier and tastes better than super glue.

oh I took a look at my M1A2 tracks today and one of them broke... I'm most likely going to get replacements cos I dont want to bother with supergluing bent vinyl

ahhhh tg so those are what pants looks like, good thing i dont have to lay down the law for sunday football, hockey fan here and so is the queen so i win on that one, but everything else i lose at.

the dogs cats and kid end up in the bed and i am on the couch or crammed in with all of them. but i must say the wife was very good this xmas. she got me two glass cabinets to display models in so i cant complain too much.

eric that is a good story but i dont know if i would want my wife to be a modeler too then instead of fighting over bills we would be fighting over the super glue lol.

Oooo... Hockey fan?  Rangers or the Islanders?  Don't know my NY geography very well so don't know which would be closer to Queens but I would guess the Rangers?  I'm orignally from Winnipeg (Jets) but since losing the Jets to Phoenix and moving to British Columbia I am now a Vanocuver Canucks fan!  I can actually say that with a straight face now!  (especially since the latest winning streak)

on the cats & kid in the bed! Gets a bit crowded at times.  She did buy the Snowberry for Christmas so no complaints from me either.  If I'm on the couch I usually deserved it  and I'm already fighting with my oldest boy (12 - will become a teenager next week - !) over the paints and tools so no, I don't want my wife to model too!
