thanks for the kind words, I need to do another Cromwell just because I like the model. I want to do "A bridge too far" when the Irish Guards are starting down the road, I will have a Cromwell, a firefly, universal carrier and when they come out a 1/48 scale Humber scout car on a long narrow road, then at the other end of the shelf when I can get them a bunch of German anti tank guns in the trees. this is a LOOOOONG term build

As for the pictures, no problem, I will do the gun {easy} but the fenders are my issue, when I do that I will ask for the picture change Whistling [:-^]

here is my target

and my attempt to duplicate

I added the right side forward tool box not realizing it was NOT supposed to go on, and

I just noticed the angled front fenders instead of the smooth curved that came in the kit

I think I may play some more with that before it is finished.

next trip to the LHS I will get some rod to replace the lower barrel of the machine gun since it is not a gun but just a pipe on the real tank.

picture of the tank is from the Lanturn Musuem in Israel

I got the Lancaster out the bag tonight and cleaned off all the sprues and had a read of the instructions. Here's the sprues. Not sure where I'm going to put this when it is finished.

A long time back I changed the end date to jult 08 but just realized that I never changed the subject line. [FIXED]  We can work out a new name for the extended version later on if we need to.

Sonow it's just a matter of which post that gets a responce to have the current subject line.

Well, this appears to be the GB that never ends Big Smile [:D]

I honestly thought that since it was past the end date my Lanc would have to wait, but that appears not to be the case. I guess I had best get it started...today I hope. I have some PE flaps for it and a few basic cockpit and airframe PE items. It's the Airwaves set - not in the same league as Eduard PE, but it will add a bit of interest - and time. I also have an EZ-Mask set to help me with all those canopies.

WingNut, thanks for letting me know about the photos on your site. What do you think of doing a Once Were Warriors II? April to Dec 2008? Just a thought, since there is now 2 builds about to start.

are ya still accepting players? if so...

Cromwell in Israel. I have been trying to find a GB to do the Cromwell, in 1/48 plenty of time to do a simple sand base, no decals AND it looks like I will be able to save lots of the little parts JUST IN CASE for the next time I build one

In the model description, did you mention that it was built to match the NASM Do 335 and include a photo of the real deal?

Thanks Marc!  I did put a photo of the real aircraft next to the model with an explanation that it was built to represent that aircraft as seen today- "incorrect" colors and all! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

detailfreak- Why, thank you very much!  I almost didn't take it to the show, as I didn't think it would do well anyway.  I'm glad I did!  It was cool to see another one there in the same camo, but different markings.  Anyway, here are some more pics, enjoy! Thumbs Up [tup]

And, one of the real deal:

Dan

No worries about not being around.  Not like you didn't have a more important reason.  We are very glad you're still "around".  Look at me... it's my GB and here I am posting extremely late.  Shame on me. And the end date will be the day you finish.  We'll call it the liveline

AJB too bad about the kit.  Whatever you decide on is OK.

Dan,

It's good to see you again!  I am glad to hear that you have a good prognosis, and will be able to return to bench.  Looking forward to seeing your work!

Hello all.  Been awhile since I've posted here.  I got sick and was diagnosed with Lymphoma.  I have a very good prognosis and I am feeling a little better between chemo treatments now and plan to set an hour or so a day aside to build.  Is the official end date (I know I should say ‘deadline' but in my case I'm not comfortable with that word Smile [:)]) March '08 or Dec '07?  If the end date is March '08 and still a way's out there I should be able to complete this build, just going to take awhile longer then I thought.  BTW it will be the Skyhawk kit. Sorry I haven't been around.

The Spit is 99% finished now, just an aerial to add. The Hurricane needs the canopy repainting and I'll do that when I have the energy for it. The Lancaster will have to wait a while I am affraid.
