I sincererly sympathize with your plight of taking pictures. My digi cam wont take close pictures no matter how much I threaten it with a hammer. Here is a little tip... on the yellow handles take a fine line Sharpie or very thin brush and apply thin black stripes the the tops.

Doom and Tony remember that the idea is to have fun here. Your builds and paint look fine. The only things that really stinks is the paint itself, and the glue, and the putty. Lighten up and enjoy the process. My goal is ti improve with every kit and to try a new technique with each kit.

You're right, Flippersdad. It's just for fun. Dunce [D)] I dare say one should always attempt a new technique or skill with each model. It is how one improves said skillz. Hmmm.... now which technique to useon this one? I've never tried percussive maintenance. Big Smile [:D] I'm going to dry-fit everything today just to see what i'm in for.

Wow this GB has taken off very fast.  I just started my Revell Titanic, would it be acceptable for this GB.

I also have a p-51 and p-38 (still in box), which I might be able to finish this year.

jinithith, please let me know if the Revell Titanic is good for this GB, I haven't been in a GB for a while so I'd like to join this one....

Wow there is soem really great work going on in this GB. Im glad I joined.. you guys are pushing me to come up with new ideas and ways to better the look of my kits. Those interiors are great for those who are doing the planes. Ive been working 10 hour days the last week so I go astraight home and sleep. Today I am off before 6 so I will get a few hours of build time. I might even get the 240 primed.

From one of your "surrounders", When I did my hull, because of its sheer size the best things are at the end of your arms. Big Smile [:D]

Tell me about it. As for the tings at the end of my arms my hull has some nasty gaps that wont close evan if i had arnolds schwazanager's arms (I think i spelled it right ah who cares) this thing i warped.

You didn't warp it. This thing dosen't have gaps, it has chasms. The fit problems on this thing are crazy. A piece of advice...buy stock in Tamiya or squadron, Mr. Surfacer, or whatever putty you use. You will need lots.

I hear ya smokingguns3 about the chasms in Revell kits.  The Titanic I have is very rough to say the least.  The hull was a bit of a problem, there is a huge step in the two hull halves and I will need sheets of sand paper to get it smooth (and tubes of putty).  Not to mention the surface detail is very basic, but who am I to complain when the model cost me 1$ at a garage sale!  I decided to get it as I am an incurable modeler who just has to be modeling something and since I have never done the Titanic, I thought what the heck lets give it a go.Tongue [:P]  I normally do ww2 birds.

BTW not all Canadians go south for the winter, I need the cold to remind me how much I appreciate our summers.Laugh [(-D]

Thanks for letting me in jinithith.

I don't know where you are, but here in the Toronto area we are enjoying 13 degree C weather that is 55 degrees for the rest of ya. Which is about 30 deg C higher than normal for this time of year.

Doom is like 10 mins away from my house (by car). we live in the city, and although he may disagree, we are friends. Hudson Ohio has been pretty warm this winter. snowed once or twice. I don't even need a sweatshirt outside. I wear t-shirts... SNOW!!!

oh yah jack, Mr. Jean-Luc Formery from Aeroscale forums (who is an awesome French dude who rocks at building models) is gonna come and smack you Big Smile [:D]

ok guys, today, I have become one with my Blackbird. No, I did not accidentally superglue it to my face. I was scribing the lines today and the flipping metal ruler slipped and there is a panel line in my thumb now.

darn, that hurt. especially cos I'm using the sharp end of a compass...

You are not supposed to curse in this forum. Please mind your manners.  Real men don't cry just because they spilled a little blood on the table.  You can use it for dull red paint.  At least it is cheap.

There was a thread on here, just this week that was deleted, about panel lines. It was talking about how exaggerated they are. I tend to agree. I work directly across from Pearson (Toronto) airport, and live just on the other side. When I see the planes take-off and land, I dont really see the lines. So jinithith, what i am trying to say is, save time and follow smokinguns3's lead and don't.

Although, you can now say you put your blood and sweat into it.

But Grandma, It may not mix well with the final coat of Future and craze the finish, and if dont like the look can use soda water to take it off?????Laugh [(-D]

Wait... I can use it to paint blood spatters on the canopy and cockpit panels then add bullit holes to pilot and around the canopy. Wow! What realism that would be!!!! Evil [}:)]
