Aaron,
I believe the USMC used these in Vietnam before Huey's ............I got this info from Wiki:
"The Westland Wessex is a British turbine-powered version of the Sikorsky S-58 "Choctaw", developed under license by Westland Aircraft, initially for the Royal Navy, but later for the Royal Air Force (RAF). The Wessex was built at Westland's factory at Yeovil in Somerset. "
The RN modified these quite a lot, even Her Majesty the Queen had one as part of the Royal Flight, I actually used to see her Wessex fly past my neighbourhood when I was a boy in London.
The helo I'm building is a famous one from the Falklands conflict, its known as "Humphrey" a Wessex HAS.3 based on HMS Antrim with 100 Flight of 737 NAS. It was used to rescue the Crew and (SAS) passengers of 2 Wessex HU.5 that crashed on South Georgia during Operation Paraquat. Its one I've wanted to add to my FAA collection for a long time.
