Thanks Aaron and Roy!! I also have the 1/72 Airfix Harrier Gr.7 just to get the VMF-214 Blacksheep decals, but will ultimately build an Italeri or Hasegawa kit, and use the Airfix as a testbed. I have a confession to make, the plane that bit me and gave me the bug was the Corsair from watching Baa Baa Blacksheep and Blacksheep Squadron back in the 70's. I have built a few Corsairs, but nothing that was shareable with anyone. This one I hope will be different.Smile [:)]

Richie,

very cool.  If I can ever get things together I can restart my FAA Corsair 1/72 and my Marine harrier 1/72 both with PE sets.

All right Richie! Pics and everything! and of a model too boot! 1/72 PE parts. Holy cow gives my fingers cramps just looking.

The paint color is pretty cool. I am trying to match that blue on the goose. Went to the Hobby store and came home with Humbrol sea blue as the match.

On the up side , maybe? The customer service girls have now updated my Ventura parts as being packed. I can't believe I am still fighting that battle! Banged Head [banghead]

Here are a couple of pics as promised. The first is just a semi-overall shot to show the int. green poly that worked well.

This one is the pit with the PE rudder pedals installed. With the PE set the pit part population will go from 4 to 31 when finished in an area not much bigger than 1.5 cu.in.!!! Call me a masocist! LOL After the pit parts are gone from the PE tree there will only be 6 left on it!

My wife bought me the 1st release of the Monogram kit when it 1st came out It is a very fun kit. Very big! I also still have the the later release of the PBY-5A which has the wheels and a cool crew! Even in the gun bays! You know how I like crew figures!

I wish I had gotten the pro modeler black cat. One of my few regrets and the Pro Modeler B-17 with the Cheyenne tail turrent. Ah alas when they were out I had more pressing issues and a lot less cash. Always waited for a re-release but no joy so far.Boohoo [BH]

Nice Goose there sfc!

Looking forward to yours too, Richie!

Both the XO and me have PBY-5's on pre-order since about April! It was supposed to be out in June! Then I read at the dealer's site it's been pushed back to August.

It's been so long, I've forgotten who we ordered from! If Frankie can't remind me, I'll have to sift through old email!

Aaron, that is going to look great!!! That scheme is striking! Only 10 steps!!! It's all the prep work of the resin parts that is going to be the toughest I bet. Looking forward to seeing WIP pics!!!!!!!

Well the attempt at shooting the int. green poly I mentioned went VERY well!!!!! The thinned paint plus the light coats and quick drying time made it shoot beautifully!!!! No crazing at all!!! Will post some pics later today.

If Princess Leia is wearing that I'll go Sci-Fi too!!!!Whistling [:-^]

Oh wow I'm sorry fellows the storm ended up being a breezy rain fall and not much else. Not even Thunder and Lightening. Got some badly need rain for about 8 or 9 hours, False alarm. Again. Musta been a slow news week because the media here was going nuts over it. Oh well I'll take that kinda Hurricane any day. Whistling [:-^]

Any rain going to make up your way Lewbud? It cooled off enough last night finally for the Air Conditioning to Cut -off and I thought the power failed.

The CAG indeed has a marvel over in SCI-FI ! Haven't not heard a peep from the XO since the cabin and Rum key came into his posscession.  I need to get to building!

CAG, I would like to add the Italeri 1/72 F4U-4B to my builds please. I have found out it might be a month or two longer on my PE set for the 'bag.Sigh [sigh]

Had a lil progress on it today. I got the PE rudder pedals bent up and attached successfully. Had one scare though, I dropped one! Found it on the chair and not the bowels of the carpet monster. WHEW!!!! I am going to attempt to spray genuine primer green poly. We have lil touch up pens of the stuff and its pretty thin, so will thin it down a bit more and see what we get. So will keep you informed.

Cheers, Richie

Ah I'll be ok storm wise. My house is new and rated to withstand a Cat 4 on relatively High ground for the area. The issue will be power outage. May have to head for cooler ground with the hot temps. Filled up the gas tank and stocked up the canned goods but that texas summer heat is no joke. Glad I'm on vacation and not out somewhere. After the Rita evacuation they'll play heck trying to get people to leave again, We spent 15 hours on the road. People were running out of gas water and food. Getting desparate and Ugly. Much more dangerous than the storm so we turned around and went home. After 15 hours trying to leave it only took 23 minutes to get home. Didn't make it too far.
