Cuz west of the big muddy, those are the choices.

SP foamer.

I have worked for BNSF since I retired from the Army in Jan 2005. Been an engineer over 2 years now. I left for work today at 1330 and just got home 10 minutes ago. Been a ridiculas week as far as hours go.  Finally have a couple days off now if I don't sleep thru them.

Bondo that is a sharp gem of a bird.  I think it turned out spiffylicious!

I lived at the Temple, TX VA Hospital From 1999-2001 recovering from (previous) spinal surgery. I used to love to hear the BNSF trains rolling through during the night.....they run right behind the hospital as you must know. We'd hear the signature whistle blasts from different engineers as they announced their arrival to the Temple yards.

HOWEVER!.....once ambulatory I played guitar in the VA Band.....we would play shows for picnics in that little park over the tracks.....don't you know.....nearly EVERY show......a BNSF engine would pull in and sit idling for 45-60 minutes......thirty feet behind the band! I know it was necessary to wait for clear track........but I was pushing 240 watts and couldn't hear myself!Laugh [(-D]

GZT that is odd. What it looks like is that the acy Aluminum didn't bit into the laquer primer. When you painted the slate gray over it the paint pulled itself apart as it dryed. Gives the effect of a dryed mud puddle.  I would be curious enough to try the same combination but this time only letting the intial coat of laquer barely dry to the touch before spraying the aluminum. I t would be an interesting test and I am betting that this time it won't crack. Even with 3 days drying I still wouldn't expect that.

Richie, I pretty much do it all. Depends on my mood. I go as far as Lafayette LA. Temple TX, Corpus Christie and Galveston.  Basically as far as 12 hours can take you as Federal law doesn't let us work for longer than that for safety. ( no complaints there) The Trains vary from carring all types of freight from Corn Syrup, plastic, ice cream to huge  Distributed Power coal and grain and fuel.  Then you got your haz mat and port container stack trains as well. All types of engines as well from The Big 6 axle Jacks to the new envirornmentally correct Hybrids. Basically if they got it I drive it. I've been doing local transfers and yard jobs a lot more lately as I kinda like coming home everyday after being gone so much in the Army and I have more time to build models!Thumbs Up [tup]

Thanks Mac! I'm part train nut too. You do mostly locals or cross country? What types of locos?

Bondo, that lil gem is looking great!!!!! Thumbs Up [tup]

Gzt I can't tell you what happened with your paint job at all! Thats odd that you had so much curing time between coats and had that problem come up. Especially since after the base of laquer you used all acryls. Very strange to say the least. Hopefully somebody will have an answer for you.

Here's the current state of the Seagull. The wing and tail were painted with gloss paint, I coated Future over the Alclad II silver fuselage. The old decals went down just fine, with alot of Microset.

Canopy, prop and a base and I'm done. This is a great little kit. I see that Yellow wings has a big decal set for the SOC-3 in 1/48, but there's no model out there. This little 1/72 Hasegawa is a gem.

Well it's been a couple of weeks since I last informed anyone of progress.  I've done all of the fun parts of the decalling on the F-14, now it is down to the less fun 'NO STEP' stuff, should be completed by the end of next weekend ... if all goes well.  ;)
Chaos, panic, disorder ... my work here is done.

Oh dear I am zonked. My shortest work day has been 12hr 15 minutes this week. Yawn. Today is my Friday but won't make it home tonight until around 3 or 4 a

AM or so.  Been reading this thread from the begining. ( kinda as a pre sleeping read, not that you all are boring or anything) Got thru page 42 thus far and am just amazed at the work I am seeing from last year not to mention the thousands of gallons of rum!

Is there a page or reference here to compile the completed works of the crew? I could sort of collect them as I go if not and make a posting when Im thru with the 400 plus pages to read?

I really liked the pics of everyone who put a face to the avitars. Rudratts cap scared me though but the pic with his wife was mushy but cool. Thumbs Up [tup] Nice looking lady( must be the cap) Laugh [(-D]

Oh well back to working on the railroad! Don't you just hate it when life interfers with yer modeling! I'll blow the whistle for ya' all! See ya tommorrow!

No Richie , it was pretty funny then too. It was the last night of our field exercises and all our flash light batteries were kaput. The really funny part is that it did a great job of hiding the tank.

Now mateys have we been abandoned from the loss of our senses from last weekend? There be no talk of rum or spirited gams to be found. (looking around) The weekend be winding down and all is too quiet. Vacations, illness or mutinous termites have run the ship aground!  Nam that is some pretty sharp looking work! The models are cool too. LOL I like you emmulating Chuck as his post are very entertaining and his work awe inspiring! The only thing you forgot was Little Nam.... Let me help you out.

Intoducing Little Nam! A wee bit softer than the original.

The weekend is here and yet the rum is slow to flow! We need inspiration to this instigation or we shall suffer extreme persperation! ( Mark Twain I ain't)

Glad to here you are well Nam and survived the opinions of 5 docs wow! You must be a stout fellow! Hope it is only poison Ivy. Makes me itch.

Once as a young SGT I camoflauged my tank in total darkness covering it completely with whatever I could easily reach and pull. When the Sun rose it revealed a Tank completely covered by poison Ivy! I share your pain. Picked up a tick or 2 as well.

Here lay my sad lexicon to my model building.....I have filletted this poor fish bearer and gutted the innards and splayed her open for all to see.

Naturally I take many liberties with lessons fron chukw...but this is OOB (Much safer that way!)......

Just adding something to the forum.........

The resolution looked okay in the preview.....if it's bad....I'll redo.

Mono 1/48 TBD of Tex Gay's craft...........interior color..........didn't like it.....rubbed it with a thumb until I got the look I liked. Crowded space that, I think, needs different shades for the camera.

Thanks sfcmac! Glad you have your Vacation plans all mapped out in that giant State of yours! Having lived there, I know!

I met the shamaness you sent to me from the TX bayou! Her guise here was a wonderful 35-ish doctor that was a mirror image of Cindy Williams (LaVerne & Shirley)....it made the 4 hour ordeal worth it! Made me feel Pirate [oX)]!

After all, I came away with 5 Doctors opinions......3 concurred for Lyme Disease.....the other 2 went for poison ivy. So I'm being treated for both! They prescribed a "something-cillin" and a topical steroid ointment. After 4 hours, I went up to the pharmacy and asked 'how long?'......2 hours was the reply.....Can you mail it?, says I.

Yes, we can.

I was outta there!

I will be fine.....Thanks ALL!

Well woke up just in time to get ready for work again..... Jeez! Shock [:O] My vacation plans are simple. Gonna hit about 3 museums. 2 At Fort Hood 1st Cav and 4th ID then back to something closer to home. At this point just not working and sleep sounds like a tropical paradise.

Glad to hear some good news Dave! I was starting to think that modeling was going to make the top 3 most dangerous hobbys.

Started my vacation on Wednesday this week and have made great progress on both the model bench and the home renovation front thanks to a certain lovely lady by the name of Shareena at the Physiotherapists.  Her magical fingers have worked wonders on me back and the 20 degree list has almost disapeared.  Got one more visit today and this one might actually be enjoyable now that the pain is pretty much gone.  If I'm not on deck for inspection you'll know whyTongue [:P]Propeller [8-]

Wishing the rest of you sickly lot the smae speady recovery that I've had.  Make a Toast [#toast]

I'll be off travelling next week.
