I'm pretty sure it was a 1/48 FM Lockheed PV-1 Ventura, if memory serves.

Ok it is official this is one awful kit. Overpriced and frustrating to the extreme. ( I am loving it)

Pretty sure that I have officially lost me mind now. Making a list of things that are wrong and need tweaking along with noting the fit issues and possible solutions. Banged Head [banghead]

Like all FM kits when 1st opening the box they show promise and seem multimedia cool but on closer inspection the true nature of the beast is revealed.

The metal parts are not the best quality while the resin pieces are tremendously detailed and will build into a beautiful pit that of course will not fit.Censored [censored] I do not understand the choice of media for a lot of the metal parts that are dung and lacking in detail when they could have been so much more perfect in resin. Example the guns, engines basically the only metal parts that are good are the seats.

Take a look at the engines for example.

No directions on how or what to do with them. My research says they are supposed to be R-2800-31 engines so I got that going for me and ordered 2 right off from Engines and things. Problem solved I hope has anyone every used one of their resin engines?

Documenting the other problems is easy. Nothing fits! Don't expect it to. The wing fit to the fuselage is an attrocity. They dry fit better upside down. Really they do. You have to be one expert sculpture modeler or a total nut case to attempt this baby. ( We all know which category I'm in. Tongue [:P] )

From reading it seems to take an average of 6-7 months to complete so I hope you all don't mind me sticking around a bit.

What is it? A Mariner?

Aye! I still have little scars on my ankles from the dreaded TX fire ants! (I lived in Austin when I went down with the first bad disk!) I was sitting on a 5 gal. bucket outside at dusk....talking on the cell.....all of a sudden my legs were on Fire! Evil things!

I believe the term Lyme Disease stems from Lyme, CT......which I not be far from!

Aye I will tease ya about much but not yer health Sir, Need to drink to that to be sure!Make a Toast [#toast] I am glad ye found the cause to yer aggrivation and ran the bugger through with yer cutlass. Are ticks common that far north? Better check out yer pets or more may be lurking. Nothing more fiendish than them bloodsucking biteing critters but enough talk about the women. Down here their be the fire ants! Nasty blighters but one side effect is they have killed off most of the ticks!

It was an EFFING TIC!

Got tired of  the aggrivation and dug the sucker out myself! How does a doctor not see that?

Now I prolly have Lyme disease. My gosh! What's next?

A week ago I couldn't have been able to use my right arm to fix it!

Sunday morning housecall.......I'm being serious here.....need opinion/advice

Last night I began scratching an itch on my right arm.....really just absent mindedly (duh! leave it alone!)

After an hour it began to swell.....actually, it was two little spots below the bicep almost to the elbow.....now I've a golfball sized lump with an ugly looking wound on it.

No pain....no fever....but I'm aware of it by a slight stinging sensation. Very slight.

It is not a bee sting........but I occasionally murder a small, black jumping spider down here in the Grooveyard. I've never been bitten by a spider that I know of.......

Do you think.....maybe?

Do your worst and have at me! I can deal with the sick humor I'm sure to seeBig Smile [:D]

I'm not too worried.......mollify me!

Great model, that -14. I'd love to build one someday, but it's not on my timeframe, and it wouldn't be as nice as yours.

Beggin' pardon "sf" but I ain't ha' a cabin, as I bunk up fore wit' ye lice ridden smelly lot, 'ats what a Bosun' does. The cabin ya' broke inna was 'n fact that of LtCmr (snr) Nam, tho I unnerstan' ye' was confused by the sign "biggest fella on board" on th' door. It's na' my business ta ha' my wimmin a'board as I don' trust the like's of the rest o' ye', an' naint regulation.

Now up wit' ye ta the LtCmrs for an undressin' er I mean a dressin' down, er um a beatin' in which case 'e'll send ya back down ta' me wit' a ticket for same', and on account of yer manliness which I'll trade ye for that nice little clock on 'is desk.

Rum rations been denied to yers truly yer humble correspondent on account o' needin' to be up fer work wit' the cock, er, the rooster, all weekend and inta next watch. But I'm drunk on' yer' fumes alone and feelin' the need ta' hit some'one.

Was a question 'bout the avatar. Killed him in a dockside fight in Bristol an' took 'is moniker, I did.

sfmac it's touchin' how ye seem ta be of an ilk wit' yer presentness, don't take this wrong but wer' yer Mum a Madame in Curacao in '08?

In which case me or Nam' might be yer, snuffle, um, Da'
