Thanks guys.  The overall coat is duraluminum with dark aluminum and aluminum oanels masked and sprayed.  I have not tried it yet but I have heard that painting different panels balck and grey before the Alclad will give a similar effect with just 1 color of Alclad

Greg-

Beautiful recovery on your Jug!  Glad I stopped in to take a look at it.

Marc-

Very nice work!  Looks like you have the NMF down to a science.

Nice Jug Marc

I have one in a similar state.  I need to clean up a few spots that I missed and the Alclad brought out.  I like the panels a lot, very realistic so far.  Can't wait to see that puppy done!  Get busy darnit!  Now I have to get off my azz and fix mine.  Thanks, like I don't already have enough to build!  Great job as usual.

Thanks guys.  I tried the decal route 1st.  Thge wings only have the undersides and they went on just beautifully.  BUT, and there is alwaysa but, getting around and over all those curves and bumos on the bottom of the fuselage just wasn't working out at all. So off they came and I have the white on the model and it is in the dryer as we speak... type... and should have the black on soon.

EDIT

OK, here are the stripes

Besides the fact that it will just never do having this GB on the 2nd page, what better way to bump it that by posting a finished, finally, build.

Well that's a pretty good bump, Marc.  I like the way you routed the brake lines.  A very nice build, the decals look like they went on very well.  The Dog is super.

Greg-

Did you ever find your antenna?  If not, I think I can help.  Is it the tapered blade one on the spine (part number 20, I think)?

Nice job Marc

That model looks absolutely beautiful.  I can't wait to see at Mosquitocon.......

Questions, did you use any aftermarket?  The engine is terrific; is that the Quickboost engine?

Very nice.  You did a beautiful job and now I'm gonna HAVE to finish mine.

Thankls Freddie.  Yup that is the QB engine with a scratched wiring harness.  The PE one that came with the Eduard set is too flat.  There is PE details scattered about.  The LG doors and gun sight are from QB too.

Hey Marc

Another question?  What did you use for the armored ring that the ign harness comes from?

Freddie... that's 20 guage (roughly 0.03) craft wire. A 15 yard spool was a few $'s at Michael's,

 Hi guys,

I'm sorry I haven't participated in the GB very much. I've been busy with life (graduation, wedding, moving, job hunting, job hunting again, all that good stuff.) Anyhow, I somehow managed to finish this build, and a few others. Thankfully, the model came out better than the pictures. I'll take better pictures if anyone is interested.

Sounds like your plate has been pretty full lately, Jabbe.  Congratulations on the wedding, good luck on the jobs.  The XP-47H looks good, but more pictures are always welcome.  Hopefully I'll get started on my P-47N pretty quick, but there is this old house I am working on...Dead [xx(]

Sure, post more pictures !

Here is mine practicaly done ... unless I find something not finished ... or you guys find something wrong with this build (I would not be surprised). I miss a horseshoe but ... I am getting one soon Smile [:)]

It is a Tamiya 1/48 P-47M flown by Witold Lanowski , one of many Polish fighters within 56th FG in England. I took it from the shelf at the LHS because I could not resist the box art Smile [:)] anyone guess why ? Smile [:)]

So here we go, my first Jug (and fourth kit done)

 comments welcome
