Nice work Guy!

I believe the "extra" hole in the back of the seat was for the sutton style seatbelt harness.  It's kinda hard to explain how it works, and my references don't have a clear photo of one.  Perhaps someone else has a good photo?

I just got my items from Ultracast, they are just beautiful. If you haven't used any of their products, here's a link to their Site:

Mike, thanks for sharing the photos. I think I am going to get those for my RF a/c

As far as Ultracast quality, I sued their sets few times however the last one for Hasegawa Spitfire Mk IXc early air inlet - it was a dissaster. See my post on Spitfire GB. A totaly wrong fit like they shrank but only in one direction Smile [:)]

Well at last I can say something nice about this build! The eternal sanding has come to an end and more building has been done.Smile [:)]

I hope to get the majority of the re-scribing done and give the airframe a coat of primer so I will be able to see whats-what. Wish me luck-methinks I will need it!Big Smile [:D]

OK lads,

here is a quick progress report from me......

I did loads of sanding, adjusting, swearing and more sanding. Then I did some re-scribing too!

Here is my mess of a Hurricane at the end of play this evening. I lowered the elevators as I thought it would enhance the "look" of my model when its eventually done. .........

Darren- glad to hear the filling, sanding, and such is nearly at an end!  I'm a little worried about starting mine now, as those parts are my least favorite modeling tasks. Dead [xx(]

Its amazing what a thin coat of primer will show up.......the seam from nose to cockpit is still visible so I've filled it and guess what comes next?

I recently started a my first four engine endeavor, a P-3C that will be done as the plane my dad flew in the Navy.  After that I'll be starting my Hurri for this GB.  So I'll likely be starting on or around the start date.  That way I can learn from your guys mistakes and misfortunes!  mwahahaha!Evil [}:)]

Beautiful work there MArtin!  Awesome A/B work, smooth decals, subtle weathering- outstanding!  Did you drop the elevators yourself?  I like it.  Expertly done, thanks for sharing! Bow [bow]

this is what "tygryski lubia najbardziej" Smile [:)]

Awsome paint job and great finish. I have only one problem with this aircraft ....

I planned the same markings and now the bar is set pretty high ... it means more challanging than I expected Big Smile [:D]

Once again, AWSOME work just typical one of your build.

Thanks for sharing here !!! A BoB GB will be soon here on FSM , do you plan to participate there too ??

Ditto....... Great job.  Well done.

Still waiting to hear from the LHS if my order is in.  Guess I'll have to phone this week.  No rush, as modeling the basement and what a mess.  Could not do any modelling if I wanted to at the moment.

Looks like I may finally have some time to start my Mk1 Hurry Build and am ordering some paint as well as the Eduard ME110 that is on sale from Squadron Big Smile [:D]. Anyway, is everyone using for an acrylic interior grey-green?? According to the IPMS stockholm site neither Tamiya or Gunze Sangyo make that color... Which are my usual favorite paints.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I prefer Gunze acrylics as well, and an almost perfect match for British Interior Green is Gunze H-321.  It is listed as a color for Israeli Kfir's and C-2s, but it's FS#34227 and IPMS Stockholm lists the Interior Green as FS#34226.  The British version has more of a gray hue to it, so I lighten up the H-321 with some light gray and it looks the part to my eyes.  HTH!

Here are the colors side-by-side:

FS34226 and FS34227

It sure is. My last model was the first that I had used it on and I am hooked. I'll use the Tamiya stuff if the GS isn't available but the GS is definitely my preference!!!

Another stupid question...that I can't seem to find the answer for:

For early Hurricanes that are not sky, or black and white underneath, what color grey/white is it? (the color guide sucks in the classic airframes kit and I can't find anything in the walkaround book.)

I am building a very early MK I from the 73sqn with the fixed pitch prop and no ventral fin. With decals on order from Iliad.

 Thanks again!
