Ernest, I dont know about the others but i wouldnt mind if you grabbed your badge. That is one smashing looking IV. Check it with Marc, but hes pretty amicable.

Hey guys!  The Dragon Pz. IV Ausf. G is finally done!  Well at least as done as its going to get now....I plan on doing a little vignette with a commander figure so final weathering will wait until then.  Sorry it took so long; because its so late I'm not going to claim the badge.  This one kept evolving the more I worked on it.  I'm not totally happy with the results, but at least it was a learning experience.  Now that I've done this first one, I'm eager to try another winter scheme!!!  Anyway here it is.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed building it!

some assembly required:  I agree.  When I first started reading FSM there was a "how to" article, two issues in length, about weathering a Tiger I.  I found it to be a really informative article...it's actually what got me into modeling "seriously".  I hope my tutorial, if published, would inspire others in the same way.  Matt and Aaron have read some of the tutorial and are interested...I just need to get off my butt and get it ready for submittal.  Thanks for your comments, it's helping to get me motivated to get it DONE!!!

panzer88:  If you're out there shoot me a PM with some contact info.  I was in Queensbury Thursday night and go there frequently...I'm here in Schroon Lake now.

some assembly required:  Thanks...I plan to submit my whole Winter Camo' Tutorial based on the SU-122 to FSM.  I just need to put some final narratives on it and do some edits, hopefully they'll publish it.

Fellow Winter Warriors:  I just finished my move from California to New York...I've been "Forumless" for awhile but I just had a chance to scan through about the last 20 pages of this thread and I must say I am amazed by the quality of work!!!  I wish I could comment individually, but please accept my "group kudos"Make a Toast [#toast]!!!

This was a great GB dupes I look forward to Winter Warriors 2!!!  I hope you're working on that gallery of finished work, please use this as my submittal, thanks:

Dale you still poking your head in here? I was thinking of trying to do the "field-applied" method like in one of the pics you sent me, but couldn't work a way out (at least with my airbrush) to make it look convincing. That would certainly added to the level of "distress". Heheheh. Wink [;)]

By my clock here there's only 8 hours of Winter Warriors remaining (more if you're in, say, a Nevada time zone...Whistling [:-^]) so use them wisely! Tomorrow's picture day for a lot of people! Cool [8D]

Barely Dupes, just got back in, as a matter of fact. Been bouncing around in the hospital and such fighting a bone infection that started in an old break in my jaw. But enough of that "schtuff". Wink [;)]

The builds look incredible guys!!! Every one is a top notch work of art.

Dupes, ya did a fantastic job putting this together Bow [bow] And it's an honor to be amongst the builders who have poured their hearts into the work seen in this GB thread.

Gentlemen, many thanks for letting me watch you work.

Shoot, I feel bad dupes!  My Panzer IV is SO close to being done, but work, work, work and family requirements have kept me off the bench.  As it is I may not be able to get back to it until this weekend.  I don't even have time to snap a couple of photos. Disapprove [V]   I can only spare a few minutes a day while at work just to check the forums and see what I'm missing.  Anyway, enough sob stories from me.

Your Stuka looks great!  Townsy's S-Tank is super looking!  Scott's Pz.38(t) fantastic, especially next to the Tiger!!  Great, great GB!  I hope I can join the next WWII!!

Hey Winter Warriors - just checking to see if a couple of the finished builders were still hanging around...if your name is JThurston, Hermesminiatures, or Plastic_Cross, do you fellas have any finished pics for the GB? I know all of you either a) finished or were b) awfully close to finishing months ago, and I just want to see if you guys are planning on posting pics! Big Smile [:D]

Just got my new laptop yesterday (for "work")...so now I have the ability to go places that have internet connections that don't include the word "dialup". Cool [8D] Will be going through the whole build here in a couple of days, wanted to see if there were any additional projects to add to the end-of-action report. If you have anything please post some photos ASAP!

Hey dupes, sorry to get back to you so late. My progress on my tank is this:

*All camo has been masked and painted

*Roadwheels have been painted black

*tools/ MGs painted gunmetal

What I still have to do is weather it and make it look 'good'. I would upload a picture but I cant find my cable to connect my camera. Mayby tomorow I can get a picture with my webcam. Technically its far enough along to be finished as an uber-clean build, but wheres the fun in that? After around may 14th I should be able to jump right back into modeling and finish it up.

Scott - I always love those Tiger-vs-anything pics...really gives you a good idea as to why they were SO feared on the battlefield! Evil [}:)]

Excellent work on the 38t Scott! It looks awesome, especially next to your Tiger!

And as promised here are some better pics of my Strv.103B (S tank).

Since I didn't have time to make a trip to the LHS to pick up some Woodland Scenics Snow, I just gave it a light dusting of white pastel powders to give the idea of snow.

Dupes: As for which pic I would like in the "Winter Warriors Gallery" choose whichever you like, it doesn't matter to me.

BTW, I'd luv to see a pic of this one next to your Kursk Tiger!!

Don't forget the wife and daughter factor.  The got there about an hour before me to get Pepe registered and I showed up 10 minutes before his heat.  Gotta keep the family happy.  Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

I'll get a pic posted here shortly of the Tiger and Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) together.  The size difference is huge!

Scott - looks GREAT! Glad you were able to get those tracks on there. Wink [;)] Snag that badge! Side note - I've never even heard of chihuahua racing. Must be a Nevada thing...? Heh.

Ernest - speaking of tracks, you sure you don't have some spare finished Pz.IV tracks you could yank off of something else to take some pics? Your build is SPECTACULAR! Big Smile [:D] I'd hate to see this not count...super!

Panzer88 - thanks! Glad you enjoyed the GB...I know I did. Make a Toast [#toast]

P.S. to everyone - if you haven't gone out to see Iron Man yet this weekend - GO! GO NOW! One of the best comic book adaptation movies to come out, IMHO. Gwyneth looked halfway decent in the movie as well. Whistling [:-^]

Here is my finished build of the Tristar 1/35 Pz. Kpfw. 38(t) Ausf. F, serving with the 19th Panzer Division in Russia, 1942.  This was a pretty intense kit, but worth the effort.  Man did I learn a lot on this one!!!  Thanks Dupes for hosting a fantastic GB!  Big Smile [:D] Thumbs Up [tup] Thumbs Up [tup]

Victory!!!!!!  The tracks are on!  I got smart and put a tiny dab of glue on each hinge.  That made a huge difference and they went on much easier.  Heading up to my photo booth to take the pictures, be right back!  Party [party]

OMG, I finally got the left side tracks on in one piece!  That has got to be one of the most frustrating things I've ever been through as long as I've been modeling.

Now its time for the right side tracks.....  Sigh [sigh]

Ok guys, I'm really struggling with these tracks.  Right when I thought I had the left side tracks on, a segment by the 2nd return roller came undone.  Banged Head [banghead]  I hope I can get them on so I can get on with my life!  Sigh [sigh]
