Sounds like harrassment to me, Scott.....you might want to consider my earlier offer to unionize.....power to the workers....errr..winter warriers! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Stuka looks pretty darn good, dupes.  Harder than hell to get that worn winterwash look, isn't it?

Building Now:

1/48 Academy Bf-109G6 - 100%

1/48 Tamiya F4U-1A - 5%

Upcoming:

Quick question concerning the rules about gear-up aircraft... Is there a certain mounting that's required, or is it ok "as is", I'm not a huge fan of aircraft with gear down (no offense obviously to anyone who prefer them that way, obviously, it takes more time and talent to model them gear-down, I just always like the flying look of them).

Thanks in advance, as usual.

The individual track links have been assembled, soaked in rubbing alcohol and are now drying.  I'll lay some paint down on them shortly.

In the mean time, I'm attaching the road wheels and will do the white streaks.  This thing will be finished, or at least considered finished by close of business tonight.  Big Smile [:D]

Well, here it is 0100 on 02 May, I wasn't able to finish my bird in time, decals busted up on me at the home stretch, and my spares are back at home. Had some very unforeseen circumstances that took up a bit of time as well, so no go on the MiG. If anybody wants, I can still post the end results for everyone when I get back home, it sucks because there's about another 1/2 hour to go on it. Thanks again to everyone for the help, it was much appreciated. I look forward to getting into a GB that I actually complete next time.

Thanks again!

I feel your pain Fyuri!  I also won't be able to finish my build in time. Disapprove [V]  Just too much darn work (the kind you get a paycheck for) and not enough time...Sigh [sigh]. There's still a good 3 evenings of work to do so I'll have it done by the end of the weekend and I'll post pics if anyone's interested.

Chris-nice job on your Strv.103B.  I don't see a lot of modern armor on the forums (at least where I hang out) and it is a refreshing change.  And you did a great job weathering.  Again, great job.

Scott-As always, another work of art.

Dupes-nice job on the Stuka.  Although I like the distressed worn look that Biffa accomplished, I also like the less distressed look of the Stuka & your earlier Panther.  I think I will go for that look next time.

And while I'm here Dupes, thank you for hosting a most excellent group build.  Job well done!  Looking forward to Winter Warriers II.

When I get home from work tonight I just need to wrap the tracks around the wheels and take the photos.  I'm a little nervous about how well the links will stay together..... Shy [8)]

Ahhh! Sorry I missed this earlier today, Bob. Black Eye [B)]

Thanks about the Stuka and Panther - they didn't quite come out how I had envisioned them, but I am happy with the final products. I haven't seen Biffa around the forums at ALL lately (has anyone?) or I'd ask him how he got so much of his paint to come off from the hairspray.

You're quite welcome sir, I'm looking forward to Winter Warriors II - The Wintering myself. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] Make sure you grab your badge!

Aaaack!  My wife and oldest daughter made a half turkey, scalloped potatos, corn bread and brocoli for dinner.... along with a couple bottles of wine.  Make a Toast [#toast]

Many DVR'd Family Guy episodes later I realized it was close to midnight so I ran downstairs and took the pics so I could post the finished "build".  There was not enough time to put the tracks on as they're very fragile and I'd rather risk that in the morning when I have all my limited wits about me.  Shy [8)]

I hope this qualifies for the badge.  Bow [bow]  If not it doesn't matter as I really enjoyed this build and the cameraderie and that's all that really matters.  Smile [:)]

I'll take some proper photos tomorrow with my photo booth and better lighting.

No worries Scott, just get the finished photo-booth pics (with tracks!) in some time today...and grab that badge! Looks very nice, btw. Wink [;)] Mmmmm....DVR'd Family Guy. Heh.

Anyone else have something finished to display for badge-gathering purposes? Hermes? I know there were several other zero-hour finishers...anyone else?

Sorry dupes, no way I can get mine done today.  No badge for meSad [:(]  I spent the last 2 nights just cleaning up the track links and I won't be able to get back to it until this evening.  It will be mostly done by tomorrow night.  Here's a couple of photos of where it is now.

This winter stuff is harder than I thought!!Dunce [D)] I am learning from it though!!

Hey guys, just got back from the chihuahua races at Bully's.  Our oldest daughter's chihuahua won his first heat, but lost the second round.

On another note, I'm trying to get the tracks on right now... not easy with these individual links!  They are designed to be workable but the hinge joins are not very strong.  Hopefully I can get them to stay on intact long enough to get my final pics posted!  Whistling [:-^]

The funny thing is there were 160 chihuahuas entered in the competition, it was crazy but fun.  Laugh [(-D]

Ok guys, I'm really struggling with these tracks.  Right when I thought I had the left side tracks on, a segment by the 2nd return roller came undone.  Banged Head [banghead]  I hope I can get them on so I can get on with my life!  Sigh [sigh]

OMG, I finally got the left side tracks on in one piece!  That has got to be one of the most frustrating things I've ever been through as long as I've been modeling.

Now its time for the right side tracks.....  Sigh [sigh]

Victory!!!!!!  The tracks are on!  I got smart and put a tiny dab of glue on each hinge.  That made a huge difference and they went on much easier.  Heading up to my photo booth to take the pictures, be right back!  Party [party]

Here is my finished build of the Tristar 1/35 Pz. Kpfw. 38(t) Ausf. F, serving with the 19th Panzer Division in Russia, 1942.  This was a pretty intense kit, but worth the effort.  Man did I learn a lot on this one!!!  Thanks Dupes for hosting a fantastic GB!  Big Smile [:D] Thumbs Up [tup] Thumbs Up [tup]

Wow!  Great work Scott!! That's a fine looking Pz. 38(t)....looks perfectly winterish!! Thumbs Up [tup]  I'm glad you managed to get those tracks on, I've had similar problems with tiny tracks alsoBanged Head [banghead], hehe!!  Even though its a tad bit late I hope you can collect the badge for this GB!!

WAIT!! HOLD ON!!  Didn't you opt to go chihuahua racing instead of modeling??   Hmmmmm, maybe that badge is not so well earned.....  Lets see - chihuahua.....models, chihuahua....Pz. 38(t) WWII German tank,  chihuahua.....dealing with overly fragile, tiny, individual track links....OK, I guess I see how the chihuahua wins!!! Laugh [(-D]

BTW, I'd luv to see a pic of this one next to your Kursk Tiger!!

Scott - looks GREAT! Glad you were able to get those tracks on there. Wink [;)] Snag that badge! Side note - I've never even heard of chihuahua racing. Must be a Nevada thing...? Heh.

Ernest - speaking of tracks, you sure you don't have some spare finished Pz.IV tracks you could yank off of something else to take some pics? Your build is SPECTACULAR! Big Smile [:D] I'd hate to see this not count...super!

Panzer88 - thanks! Glad you enjoyed the GB...I know I did. Make a Toast [#toast]

P.S. to everyone - if you haven't gone out to see Iron Man yet this weekend - GO! GO NOW! One of the best comic book adaptation movies to come out, IMHO. Gwyneth looked halfway decent in the movie as well. Whistling [:-^]

I'll get a pic posted here shortly of the Tiger and Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) together.  The size difference is huge!

Excellent work on the 38t Scott! It looks awesome, especially next to your Tiger!

And as promised here are some better pics of my Strv.103B (S tank).

Since I didn't have time to make a trip to the LHS to pick up some Woodland Scenics Snow, I just gave it a light dusting of white pastel powders to give the idea of snow.

Dupes: As for which pic I would like in the "Winter Warriors Gallery" choose whichever you like, it doesn't matter to me.
