Ron,
Jackal is correct, do not confuse the wonderful Champ cars with the IRL @#$@ wagons or with the much more great F1 cars.
Ask your NASCAR driver how he liked driving the FW24 (Jeff Gordon took the car for a few laps on the Indianapolis F1 Course, and JPM took the Rainbow Chevy for a few also).
Granted Jeff would ahve qualified on the F1 grid, but JPM was mere ticks off a front row!
The FSM and the SA review of the FW24 seemed identical because they were writen by the same guy. . .and the review was a bit sparse compared to the others reviewed in both mags.
Kimi needs to relax, he has a Scot behind him, just like Mika did, and we all know DC is a great number 2, he never has the support of Ron Dennis.
Anyway, I'm off to the shop to check for my kit!!

Hold on there cowboy. There aint no rainbows on the #24 Dupont Chevrolet, those are flames!!! They dropped the rainbow a few years ago after a difficult season when they lost their traitor crew cheif Ray Evernham Smile [:)].

Also, I don't remeber JPM doing quite that well in the Cup car. Maybe I'm suffering an attack of selective memory syndrome Tongue [:P].

Selective memory indeed!
Well. . .maybe me too, but before JPM even finished old Mike (NASCAR) Joy was saying it would be "easier" for JPM because the Cup Car was so much like the one he drove everyday (???? JPM Does NOT drive a Monte Carlo!!) while Jeffy would be handicaped because of the lack of fenders. . . All said and done, both did very well.
Darren. . .I think your telling us Jeff Gordon is not a rainbow warrior any more, now he's a flamer?

Sorry I'm out of touch a bit, no FW24 at the hobby shop. . .the distributor is out of them and the same for the Walter Wolf kit I ordered too. Time to get a new distributor!!

Try www.interq.or.jp/japan/acustion

This will take you to the english page and so the japanese characters won't be transposed to look like rubbish

No kit yet.
Still waiting, and waiting,and waiting. . .
Going to check the shop tomorrow.
Does anyone have any idea why FSM said the MSRP is $24 and change and I can't find it for less than $34?? Must be the supply and demand thing going here, If I was a conspiracy nut I would say FSM and Tamiya are working in tandem to gouge us poor little modelers and take our money.
See what happens when I have to wait?

Yeah I get a kick out of this too and have for years....FSM always has used the MSRP pricing in reviews and other things....Its a joke! Really, I have yet to find a new kit...that FSM has done a feature or review on for the price they listed!

I had to cancel one of the other items on the order because it was back ordered *mumbles*....or else I'd probably still be waiting for my FW24

I've heard that Scale Motorsport are releasing their detail set for the FW24 early next year as well as their set for the Enzo Ferrari. A bit late for this community build but has any one else heard anything about this rumour.

Studio 27 already has a detail set out for the FW24.
I ordered the Williams FW24 from Hobby link Japan today.
We'll see who can get it here in my hands quicker!!

Yes I knew about the Studio 27 set and it was the one I planned to get too because of price and quality. Howver if you really want to go berserk or use your lotto winnings then check out the acustion sets. There are 4 of them and a combined set for only a trifling 18500 yen what's that about US$170???!!!

Scale Motorsport does a really nice job, however they price themselves right out of my range. Some may think $170 is a fair price and I say buy me one too!!

I suppose the nasty sound of crickets on this thread is because no one has the kit to start on yet. . .right?
I have the confirmation on my order from HLJ, Hope they can get it, The local hobby shop struck out again, third strike called, they are out.

MOW-BILE?? As in LA?
(Lower Alabama to those who have never been there)
What do you do in Mobile?
Is there still a hobby shop there?
I was in Beautiful Mobile from 1984-1989.
Anyhow, Moe must be just gluing like crazy since we haven't heard from him and we know he has the kit!
