Hey, I just got my Williams (less than a week from order to delivery)! I wasn't going to order one just yet, but when I saw this group build, I decided to go ahead even if I can't complete it by the finish date. (I am going away for two weeks during the holidays. You know family - they want to visit and stuff, and they get all offended when you pay more attention to your model than to them.)

Anyway, I think I am going to take the plunge and try carbon fiber decals. Does anyone have a recommendation which brand is the easiest/best to use, or are they all about the same? Also, there are several varieties (carbon over bronze, etc). Which one is appropriate for the Williams?

Heavy sigh.
No model.
Yes I did get shipping confirmation from HLJ, nine days ago. . .
Maybe it is all the snow we had yesterday.
I suppose this is where I get all noble and say "fella's, you better go on without me. . ."
Nah, You'll just have to wait for me to catch up!

I washed all the parts yesterday. . .my wife making comments to the effect she wished I could have washed my kids as thoughly when they were younger. . .
I thought of a cool dio for it, but I need a frowning Michael Schumacher looking at the very well worn tires near the podium. . .

*lol*..Schumi better get used to frowning this coming season. ;)

I just washed my parts and made a quick trip to the local Hobby store for a few supplies I was out of...I just wish they'd hurry up and dry already!

LOL!
I just love it when either one of those guys (the brothers Schumi) frowns, looks like my son did when he was three and didn't get his way. No tantrum, just bottom lip stuck out a bit, lips prused in anger arms crossed.
Late work night yesterday, so I hope to get to the bench this evening.

I'm here!
Working on the steps one by one. Box Stock.
I couldn't get the Tamiya foil to stick to the parts so I went with bare metal foil, ooops I guess it isn't box stock anymore is it?

I'm here...somewhat.

I've only got; the block glued, puttied (is that even a word) and sanded, I'll be primering and painting it Sunday. I've also got a few of the other engine pieces primered and scribed..I'm just trying to find a full day to sit down and go to work...it's kind of hard to do this time of year when you're wife thinks "he's on vacation, HE can do all the running around."

M'eh, marriage. She just doesn't understand priorities ;)

When it rains it pours!
Or when it snows it keeps snowing. . .
The hobby shop called, guess what came in? Yep A Williams FW24!
Guess what my brother sent me for Christmas? (It's an older brother thing, thing he never wraps stuff up, just mails it out), You got it a Williams FW24! Now I have THREE of them!. Plans are already made for them, This group build, one on the racks as a back up and one. . .I don't know yet maybe pull the stops out.
Hope you all have a great Holiday!!

Going slow over here, but feel a rush of itchy fingers to finish the Kit.

Under the X-Mas Tree was ANOTHER FW24 ((Italian Version), which I ripped open to paw through the upgrade parts.

And there were some nice surprises in there, bassically the same Kit as the German version with the following changes/additions.
1) Upgrade parts (PE, White Metal, Carbon Decal sheet)
2) A Sprue cast in clear
3) B sprue dropped for G sprue to make the different spoilers
4) Tire rims are now pre-chromed

The Carbon Fiber decal sheet came as a surprise as all the shapes are marked and numbered on the back. The PE parts partially can replace some of the Studio 27 Parts.

So I decided that I will combine the 2 Kits to make 1 for the build(don't think that I will make the deadline though), the clear parts as expected were cast in the hard clear plastic (surface very smooth and slightly brittle).

Mine is kinda hung in that limbo state where I thought I was going to do it box stock, but now I really dont want to....So I'm hoping to have my mind made up this weekend as to which route I'm going to take.

I have some sub assemblies done and some painting done but Im no where near where I would like to be of course...If I choose to go with some AM parts that might not be a bad thing either.

Just got my Acu-stion Suspension Set, now just waiting for some parts from Tamiya.

Once I got those I will start full-speed with the build.

Mine will be as mentioned German version + Italian upgrade parts + Studio 27 Decals & PE set.

I'm looking for a race that Ralf did something stupid in. . .I mean something really stupid(er) than normal!! Though he did finish in second at Germany and JPM finished third, that might be rare enough to build both as the German version!!

Could be a contender for the ugly duckling stakes but will it turn into a swan? Check out other launch pictures and videos on the Williams website www.bmw.williamsf1.com

I had to take a hiatus from mine for the last two weeks. Family and holiday's really were a time sink for me this year. :D

Well you see. . .Blush [:I]
I set the left side of the cockpit/body down on the floor because for some reason my work space has shrunk to only 6 square inches. Then as I was minding my own business the piece moved under the leg of my chair and *CRACK*
It is not really broken, just kind of maimed, with a nice crack and a little bend in it.
It's salvagable. Thanks for the offer, I was just checking in to see what you guys are up to. I painted my wheels Testor's MM Metalizer Titanium, Look good if I do say so myself.
