Another detail p/e set is available manufactured by Lionroar if anyone is still undecided as to whether to add the extra details afforded by such sets. The pictures on their website (www.lionroar.net) look very nice. Comments on the F1 modelling forum also suggest it is very good.

My kit has finally arrived along with the Studio 27 p/e set but I forgot to order the carbon fibre decal heets. No to worry because it won't be started for a while as I have on my workbench a Russian Typhoon class ballistic sub, Revell's 72nd patrol boat, Marsh Model's recently released GT40 roadster and Tamiya's 24th Porsche 962.

Tamiya has some good tips on their web-site on how to paint carbon pattern, looks interesting.

I'm assuming this build is pretty dead??????

I had heard that comment too from others but I don't really think its that difficult. It just takes patience and care but there again I haven't started yet so what do I know! We've seen pictures of your builds before littlemoe and they look good so what is it that is intimidating?

The only reason I haven't started is because I need to clear away the other 6 kits in various stages of build first.

Also got too many irons in the fire to progress with anything quickly.

I don't see the kit any more difficult than many other Tamiya Kits I have done, naturally one problem with the Racing Kits might be masking for paintings and similar.

Some of the recent car Kits like the Enzo Ferrari and similar tend to raise the quality and detail bar for Tamiya considerably, but still nothing that should prevent anyone from finishing their kits.

I am going about it slowly. . .
Perhaps when the season starts I will hit it more.
I did have a themed kit to build for the club, and a kit to finish for another group build, now with both of those out of the way I will proceed to the WIlliams. . .

I'm just taking my time. I'm sort of experimenting with techniques on scrap kits before moving them over to the build.

I've decided I'm going for a car that's post race in the paddock... :)

Hi all,

I'm WAAAY too late to join in the fun (still working on the Jordan 191 anyway...), but I'm eager to see pics of anyones' progress. Personally I find 'in progress' pics just as interesting as the finished pics. So if anyone would care to snap some off I'm sure a lot of us would love to see them!

So has anyone officially pushed back the end date of this build? Might be worth it, so everyone's got a goal date, rather than just let the thread/group build fizzle out.

Anyway, back to the FW13 I just won on eBay... time to practise scratchbuilding 'engine bits' for the first time!

Cheers,

Mark

I put mine aside for a spell to complete a few builds, but I have now decided to get the Williams done. THe hard part will be figuring out how to post some pictures.

It was kinda confusing me!!!! which isn't to hard to do!!! LOL

Well Ron,
I have found that if you clear your bench of all the other projects you have, the parts count comes down!
I said 'I have found', so you know that is what I have done! Trying to put a F14 canopy on the F15 did it for me! My solution was brilliant, if I do say so myself. I extended my bench!
I can work at both ends now and never put anything away.
