Watch out for "CLEAR VIEW" kits!!
Lots of release pin marks and they still insist on stamping "TAMIYA" and the copy right crap all over.
Takes lots of patience to clean up, I know I am still trying to clean up my Mercedes CLK clear view car. Of course, I have little patience. . .

I know it's only rock and roll, but I like it.

Yup, normally they just push clear plastic through the same molds, so all the blemishes and markings are still there and some are more obvious now.

Also the clear plastic often tends to be more brittle.

Oh yeah,
Day 3
Day 4
and Day 5 now! Hopefully only a few more until my kit arrives!
I went on a road trip and found a hobbyshop. . .you got it no FW24's. The owner told me he ordered 10 when it came out, got 6 and those ripped through the store. He hasn't been able to get any more since!! He just rolled his eyes when I asked about FSM's SRP of $24!! So, I bought yet another P34 six wheeled Tyrell. This is the new re re re re release with First National City on the White cockpit surround.
I hate waiting, to much like the Military. . .hurry up and wait.

I know it's only rock and roll, but I like it.

Went to the LHS to get the ACU STION suspension set for the Kit, out of stock but should be back in by the end of this week. Keeps fingers crossed.
Picked up the Studio 27 upgrade parts though and a set of spark plug wires.

Didn't see any decal sets for it though, might need to check again.

Sooooooooooo Ron hows the kit coming?
I started prepping my parts last night some....Most of the construction will be done in between December 19-26th. Im ambitious as hell trying to get this kit put together in a week but it might happen! Might not but Im dang sure gonna try! Right now Im prepping and priming the parts that need it....then Im gonna go ahead and shoot the body so it will be fully cured when it comes time for the assembling fray! This and my duster will be my last auto kits for quite some time......Im getting seriously burnt out on them and need to focus on my true interest more AIRCRAFT of the 1/72 WWII variety

I, much like Chris, will be prepping and getting most of the car ready for building, but I have the luxury of a tad more time. :)

Other than some honey-do-ings I'll have from the 15th on to get this bad boy built.

So, here's the next question for you all...

J.P. Montoya or R. Schumacher build? :)

Juan Pablo for me.

You can find the info in the link below:
http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?ACS2011

My local LHS hopes that they will have it back in stock by the weekend, there is another store close by that I will check too if it hasn't come in.

Pricey little Kit, but I think it will be worth it.

I don't think that I will get it much cheaper than the listed 2.980 yen ($27.00).
Sad [:(]

Well if its $27.00 over there....it would be $47.00 here or at least the way things typically run around here....LOL So if I happen to run across it I may jump on it....then again I may go without! I have some MISC RC car springs and shock bodies from a Tamiya F1 Electric RC kit I may have to see if I can adapt them or if they're to large and will throw off the scale look of it!

Now that I think on it a spell, and I can because I don't have a kit to work on yet,
There is just something about a Williams and the number 5. . .

Oh, and what do you first timers to Tamiya think of the real rubber tires?

I don't think prices will vary that much.

Tamiya Tires are ok, I wish they would improve their tire decals some though.

Ok, who will work on the exhausts to make them look more reasitic??

Guess again MMF.
I looked at MediaMix Hobbies and saw the price was $37 US.
The "complete" FW24 detail set is listed as $300.00, yes, $300.00 US.
Kinda makes the price of $41 for the kit seem reasonable doesn't it?

Just checked the site and I see a price of $22.06, with the full kit going for $206,29

Do you have a different listing?
As of a few seconds ago it still had the suspension set at $37.50 and the full set at $309.00
Maybe you have a more accurate update?

Today is Day 8.
Here I sit waiting for my model car with the stupid ketchup song in my head.
(Carly Simon's "Anticipation", or are you guys too young to recall that?)
In all it is not a bad thing. The wife is doing the usual pre stress for Christmas, trying to get everything done in three days she put off since the beginning of December. (NO. it's too early to put it up, Not yet. etc.)
But I hope for a package soon so I can retreat to my lair and not have to listen to the endless Christmas music from Neil Diamond. . .

As I wait, How do you guys post pictures and the like on this site?
Go slow, not only don't I read very fast, but I am really a computer idiot.

To the left of the Message box (where you type replies in) click on the "Show Forum Code" list and scroll to the bottom. Basically it's "nesting" img inside of [ ] copy the URL of the picture and then "close" the tag with the /img nested in [ ]

Also, you did receive shipping confirmation on the HLJ order right?
