great job on the chipped paint.  very subtle, but effective, we don't want one whole side of the tank painted silver, lol.

if you want to do more chips, i'm about to try a new technique.  I'll use an old hobby knife, dip the in black paint, then cut into the surface, making small grooves, which are instantly filled with paint.

I'll let you guys know how it turns out after i try it.

Heres an update on my KT.

I've started weathering the hole tank there

Still a littel weathering left maby more chips and rust but not much else besides the tools.

And I've base coated the tracks.

I might start to weather the tracks tonight but not shure.

you have a fleet ?  where do you get all this patience?  can i buy some?

i kid, lookin forward to more photos.  anywho, Raptor.  will this be your first tank?  i think i've seen the lindberg kit at my LHS.  By no means is this the most accurate kit (just look at the literally rubber band tracks) but it should be a great kit to introduce you into the world of armor.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I have finished 90% of the bridge assembly, it just needs paint. The aft deck is almost done too, foredeck and forecastle are being worked on this evening. Then the afte superstructure deck before final assembly and painting. I'm debating whether or not to use the airbrush on this one. I think I will because of the PE walkways between the fore and mid and mid and aft superstructures. I think it's going to look neat when finished, and I'm pretty pleased with my new bridge part. It'll be a great addition to my fleet. More pics coming this evening.

Stickman, Great work on the tank. Mine will be a similar paint job. I don't think theres anyting you can do to stop the splotyness of the airbrushed paint, so I am going to try to use silly putty. Again awsome work Smile [:)]

Hey Tacobuff, thanks yes its airbrushed. I didn't know this GB would be this much fun, so Jagpanther, can you add a 1/48 Lindberg Tiger l german tank to the roster? I am taking a huge step trying armor. But hey, it looks fun.Wink [;)]

Thanks.... Ya it's airbrushed but it was my first time doing that kind of camo (tiger stripes??) so it's a bit spaty when you look close. I'm done weathering the weels.

Thanks for the coment Jacob.

AJB - great work on your boat.  I respect anyone who has the patience to put together something that massively small.  when that's painted, it's gonna look great.

Raptor - excellent 109.  your razor sharp yellow patch is great.  Airbrushed?  (i still can't handle one of those darn things.

Stick Man - KT #52 is comin' along nice, even tho it can't move without wheels (ha). Airbrushed as well?

good to have the whole group in the swing of things and producing some top notch work. Thumbs Up [tup]

Very nice job on your Me109 Raptor! Looks awesome! I tried building a plane once (1:48 Spitfire I think), years ago, got bored of building after a day though, and one thing led to another and it eventually resulted in vast amounts of firecrackers being stuffed into the cockpit and being shot at with a pellet gun. The most fun I've ever had with a planeBig Smile [:D]

and Nice progress on your kyokuto AJB, looks great so far.

Nice build raptor!

Here's my Kyokuto as she looks today.

She has a ways to go, but slowly but surely she's getting there.

Townsy, your build looks fantastic!

Kyokuto Maru is progressing fairly well. The build has been fairly straight forward, except for the bridge which is being massively rebuilt. The bridge face was molded solid and looks horrible so I am replacing it entirely. Not too hard, except the bridge itself was engineered for the solid piece and not my new open part. So I have to do alot of chopping, sanding and scratchbuilding in order to make it presentable. I'll see what progress I can make today and post some pics this evening to show you what I mean about the bridge.

The rest of the build is very easy, detail is nice and the photoetch set included is fantastic, very well engineered and easy to install. It's just that stupid bridge!

Thanks for the extension, by the way, it looks like I might need it.

Hey thanks alot guys! Glad you like it.

Tacobuff, yep those are my first figures, technically the loader was my first figure, and it shows as he really didn't turn out that well, and the Commander was my second, he improved a bit, but the driver is I feel my best and he's one I painted last weekend, (the other two were 'borrowed' from one of my older Challenger 2 kits) What helped me alot in the figure painting was HermesMiniatures' EXCELLENT figure tutorial over in the figures forum, that's what really motivated me to try figures in the first place, you should check it out, it helped me a ton!

Here's a link:

and Jagdpanther, thanks for pushing the deadline back (When does it go to now???) cuz if there's enough time, I might try and get in with another buildBig Smile [:D]

very impressive townsy.  You put a lot of effort into this build and it shows.

Those are really the first figures you've done?  my first figures looked like they'd been kicked in the face, and then painted one brownish skin color.

Good on ya
