Nice work on the wheels, they provide a nice contrast to the painted chassis.

Mounted and did some weathering on the wheels and while they were drying I finished and fitted the tracks. I'll start painting those tomorrow.

Mounted the radiator and installed the upper and lower hoses,I made those out of wire insulating jacket.

Excellent work there Tony. I simply love that vehicle ever since I seen it in the encyclopaedia of German armour, I would buy one tomorrow but I hate doing anything from the north African campaign. I should do something since my uncle fought there, but I did do one of the horchs with the flak 20mm years ago but some idiot Goya into a big BS rant about how stuff should be weathered in north Africa so I never touched the subject since.

I love what you have done with the engine and chassis so far and I know this will be another stunner from you.

I've built various HT-based kits but it has been a while since I tackled one. I've got a couple of DML's Sdkfz 7 based kits in the stash, might have to dig one of those out in the near future depending.

You bet Andy that's the push water. Hi Bill how's it going? I'll say one thing these half tracks are sure labor intensive,more so than any open top tank. You should try it sometime buddy.

I thought I would leave the hood sides off to help keep the engine cooler. Gets awful hot out here you know.

After the finish dries I figured a little desert dust was called for good measure.

These are enamels and MIG the man is involved with the company. No paints just washes and pigments right now. These that I used are from their Engine and Metal weathering set (6 items in the set).

Stephen I found a not so great picture of the storage bin but it was good enough to tell that there were canvas flaps over the shells and not metal doors.

yeah, ok , I see no extra "touches" at all. Really, though, luv what ya did. Like the canvas cover on the ammo racks. Don't know how or where you all get your reaseach info. I would have thought they were metal covers myself.

I hate cleaning up after you paint for just a small session and the Diana is real close to needing some painting to progress on and that's when the paint dust will fly.

Anyway I did run some wire and plumbing today by adding a radiator hose, air line from the compressor, batt wire to the starter solenoid and the fuel line to the filter, i'll connect the other end to the carb when the fire wall/cowl and engine is painted and installed.

Nice work on the rennovations to the kit Tony! Now I don't mean to pry...but didn't you promise that the warmer summer weather would produce some paintwork progress on your other builds? I'm dying to see the Bison II with some paint on it (unless you already did and I missed it?)!

OK i'll confess to doing a little extra on this kit.

There are two suggested fixes that Terry Ashley passed along in his review at PMMS.com

The first I did was add 4mm to the front axle,2mm to each side. Using the kit sprue since it's the same size as the axle I cut the axle near the spindles and added a 2mm slice of sprue to each side. You also need to add 4mm to the cross over tie rod too,I used Evergreen rod for this.

Second was raise the frame.

The ammo area of the storage bin needed some eye candy next:

I cut one of the compartments open and added a partition panel:

I bought the Bronco Russian 7.62cm ammo kit and loaded it with eight rounds. The Diana carried 32 shells.

The simulated canvas cover flaps are pretty non-convincing so I used the foil liner from a cigarette pack to make new ones and rolled one up so the shells would show.

I'm going to leave the rear door open so that gap had to be closed with a strip of plastic yard sale sign:

The shop reopens in the morning and I don't know what i'll do next,maybe some wiring and plumbing.??????

Totally cool, Tony--man, I wanted this kit so bad, but the price just put it out of reach for me. Can't justify it right now.
