Forgetting about that pot for awhile it was time for some more painting today.Yes

I told you that the RAL 7027 Sandgrau was really a pale green.

Painted the components on the firewall and base colored the spare track links.

I even had time to work on the cab. The instruments are just blank holes except for the clock and you don't even get any decals for them with the kit. Luckily I had another half track in the stash that had the needed decals so I put them to good use.

That's it for now folks so until later just remember "IT's FRIDAY"Balloons

Brain storm here , do you suppose the two lines carry warm exhaust air thru the base of the carb for those cold winters ? Kinda makes since . I think the hole on the side of the carb is where the fuel line will be attached . Hmmmmmm ...............Hmm

I posted this and came back to see you had already mentioned the fuel line hole .

I don't think those are fuel lines coming out of the exhaust manifold like that.?????

The plot thickens

Tony leeBig Smile

On this side i wouldnt think fuel lines would run that close to the exhaust manifold ..................yikes !You painted the lines brass , you know something your not telling me ? And that gizmo on top of the head cover ? Looks like some kind of compressor run of the crank shaft in the rear .

Tony , That long necked container at the left could be an oil bath air filter with the hose coming out of it into the square carburator , the two lines coming out the front of the carburator could be fuel lines . Why two ? Who knows how accurate any of the engine parts are . So thats as far as i'm going with my quessing . Close the hood and drive on .Yes

Oil bath filter sounds good.. looks like it.. 2 fuel lines, 1 might be a return line.

Bill thanks for clearing that up .

Tony , i thought that also . Seems like an air intake should be up higher on the vehicle . I just cant think of what else would be shaped like that .Has the model got a detailed engine and compartment ? Just wondering if anything is plumbed to that area on the inside of the engine compartment .

Thanks guy for your comments.

When I first saw it I thought it might be an air filter too but seeing how it is mounted so low and right behind the front tire it would suck up dust like crazy and that's why I ask.

All German gear used gasoline and not diesel engines as a standard rule. Still, it wouldn't surprise me if it was an auxiliary air filter added as a "Tropen" modification or something similar given its location.

Just guessing Tony , but if the engine is a diesel could the rectangle opening be the air inlet and the round part be the air filter container ?

Pvt Mutt

Yeah they did throw this machine together in a hurry and the first batch just did get to the front in time for the assault Mike.

Well you kind of point the long end towards the destination and, as Mike would say, pull-string-and-go-boom! That's how you know where it's headed. Wink This one's going to make quite an impact when all said and done!

Just remember PSGGB ......... Pull String Gun Go BOOM

Looking real good Tony..... now, don't ever forget the ammo. Put up a status board and keep a good count!! Also don't mix up your lots!!

Lastly, remember when you are moving on to R&R...... Re-arm and Re-fuel.... and I won't talk about this in the same breath with old farts...... hummm I suddely have gas.....I mean propelling charge
