This is all beyond me. But why don't you all (how ever many that is) build Bab5 Star furys. Just to show it can be done: http://www.starshipmodeler.com/b5/scr_fury.htm

Then you have your own wing art.

wouldnt be a bad idea for a future build but i think we all have are own designs going as of now , but it is a cool idea to take an existing model and try to scratch build it

Anyone getting excited or is it just me? Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] I'm going to Hobby Lobby tomorrow and then I should have all the supplies I need. I brought home about 20lb of scrap grey styrene sheet today so I have the raw matierals pretty much covered. Wink [;)]

I'm pretty much geared up as well, but will only be using what I can scavenge here at home. The price of styrene here is a bit on the high side for me and all I can find are the strips.Big Smile [:D]

I'm a Manager at a factory that makes vinyl shutters as one of our product line. The paintable shutters are made of a grey styrene that is about 3/16" thick. Lucky for me they just throw the stuff away. The flat panel part is up to 18" wide and several feet long! I grab it by the box full, that and plexiglass scrap.

I guess your right. I'm socking a bunch of plastic back because I'm more than likely quitting my job in late 2005. We are planning on moving back to Michigan so my wife can except a job she has lined out. The job starts at 50K and almost all of our relatives live there, so I guess it will happen.

The day has finally arrived and my deep space escort fighter is under construction! I have just finished cutting all the forward fuselage parts. Looks like it will all fit together nicely. I wanted to start by building the twin gatling weapons but I think it will be easier to fit them after I have built the crew module. This fighter will not have a full fuselage but several system modules connected by an open framework. Anyone else get started yet? Alien [alien]

I hope they help break your builders block. Well me and cplchilly have lift off! Anyone else get started yet? I'm planning on taking a lot of pictures but I have to find a new photo host. Anyone have a favorite free picture hosting site?

What about RonUSMCs photo site ? I plan on taking lots of pics too , I haven't started yet but it seems that I keep redrawing the plans and each time it gets bigger and bigger , anyone else with this problem ? Like right now it's probably a 1/48 scale or bigger .

I have never used RonUSMC's site but I'm willing to give it a whirl. Wink [;)] I picked 1/48 scale and have stuck with it but my sketches have changed quite a bit. I finalized my plan last Sunday evening and there is nothing left but to bring it to life! Alien [alien]Yeah!! [yeah] Do you have back stories for your fighters? Mine is an early Terran Expeditionary Fleet fighter. Wink [;)]

First off Welcome to the Forums Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

Next , Welcome to the Sci-Fi Starfigther Group build , requirements are whatever your imaginenation can think up , build it ! Simple huh . Do's and Don'ts , hmmm well it's a starfighter group build , but you could also build gunships fighter escourts or cruisers classes , we also decided thar for the most part we want to keep it as close to scratch built as possible but to be honest if you kit bash something into a starfighter who are we to say anything , at first I was going 100% scratch built but I have learned that in order to get the detail I invision I'm going to have to do some kit bashing , but in all mine will be around 90 to 95% scratch built .
The build is already started and the end date is in June which may or may not get extended due to peoples jobs and other circumstances , we want everyone thats building with us to complete there project so were going to understand any kind of set backs . You'll find we're a pretty easy bunch of guys and we hope we make you feel at home here with us and please ask questions or give advice as that's why we're all here . Good Luck and Welcome aboard .

I haven't worked on my ship much lately, took a break and did the Thor thing which was different. Hopefully, Sunday, I can get back on track and start working on the cockpit details. I am going to try and light it ( LOL ) and see what happens.

Thats a cool idea Dan , I went to my local Hobbytown today , which is the only place in town that sells shaped and sheet styrene and they were out of stock Angry [:(!] so looks like I have to start with what I have and wait for the rest , Maybe I'll light mine too , never tried it sounds like fun .

First off thanks for bringing me abourd! Second, I have some thing already in mind. It`ll be a kit bashed ship but it`ll be about 50% scratch and ill give yall a clue itll be the same scale as the amt 1999 eagle. All of the greeblies will come from various kits. Now the hard part is taking the pics which ill have to ask for assistance( later) Thanks again!

I'll check it out! Do you collect firearms? I'm more of a shooter but I did just sell off a really nice Enfield jungle carbine. Kind of wish I hadn't now. What is the other site you frequent?

Just go to ezboard.com then go to Parallax's Curio & Relic and Military Surplus Firearms Forums. I started with a #4 enfield and I still have it. Well it seems my starfighter is a bust it is just too much star trek in it so Ill leave it that way and finish it later. I already have another Idea for the star fighter project so Ill start drawing it up and go from there.

What's wrong with Star Trek! Big Smile [:D] My crew module is coming along nicely. I'll be starting the drive module this evening more than likely.
