That's great progress! looks like it's starting to really pull together. It kind of reminds be of a design from Aliens, nothing specific just the style.

I've made some progress myself. The neck assembly was finished yesterday and today I have the drive section, neck, and crew module all put together. I'm working on the ion drive nacelles right now and if I'm lucky they will go on in the next day or so. I'll post pics when I'm a bit farther along.

Here's what I have to far. The pods at the back are pen caps, and the rest is sheet styrene with a little Millput for the curves along the sides.

Richard, That looks great. What scale is it?

I'm putting details on mine and will post another pic when I get some fresh batteries. This Fugi camera sucks them dry in a heartbeat!

Thanks, guys. The model is 9 inches long, and the scale is 1/144. It works out to about the size of a SR-71/YF-12, and would serve a similar role, with both recon and fighter versions.

Is there a deadline or Sci Fi Starfighters build?
TIA,

p.s. How do you guys ( and gals, if any) feel about doing a Babylon 5 Starfury Group build?
I know that it is hard to find the model, but for those of us who have it, would you like to have them put together?
No limits on how many and any which way you would like to make it. I am in the process of kitbashing a tri-winged Starfury, but stopped to concentrate on other projects. Your input is welcome.

I guess it's up to Walt (SewerRat) when the deadline is. I'm getting pretty close to finishing mine but it's Walt's show.Wink [;)]

When you are done with your fighters, can you send me some photos and I will make a page on my website to post them? You can write details of your build or have some background history for a caption. I think it would be great to have a page with our builds on it. I am not an expert at this, so if there is someone who is very crafty with webpage stuff, please come forward and be recognized!

Hey guys and gals ,

Sorry I haven't been around much , my Dad just had open heart surgery and I've been spending almost every avalible minute with him , things were pretty much touch and go there for couple days , I haven't been able to work on anything , so I'm still at the same place with the scratch build as I was before , and to be honest until things get a little less hectic around here I don't think I'll have much time . I'll try to work on it when I can but ????? I don't know I guess I'm just scarred that if I'm not there I may never see him again and I'm just not ready to say that goodbye yet . So i hope you'll all foregive me and I'm sorry , but I will finish itjust don't know when . As for a deadline , Hell most of us are so far behind the original deadline , does it even matter anymore ? I started the group build with the hopes of getting more people interested in the Sci-Fi aspect of the hobby and I think we did that , so as for a deadline , I'll leave that up to you guys .
Hope you Fathers out there have a good Fathers day , and some food for thought , tell your fathers you love them and talk to them , you might find that if you wait , you might have lost the chance .

I haven't had a chance to take any new pics but here are a few that I had. I actually took these before my last project update but my batteries died and I couldn't upload them. Well here they are but keep in mind the fighter is much farther along now.

I also have decided(I thinkTongue [:P]) to go a different route with the engine configurations. Instead of the main engines at the "wing" tips, I have installed the main engines in the drive section and will be putting slim booster engines at the wing tips. I want to keep a slim stilleto profile. Please let me know what you think good or bad.Wink [;)]

Looking good, Woody. Personally, I'm biased towards the stiletto look. Maybe use the wingtips for weapon pods and/or droptanks?

SewerRat, you and your family take care. This stuff is just a hobby, and it can wait.

Walt,
Trust me, your Dad appreciates you being there. My Dad had his first heart attack 30 yrs ago and his 2nd 5yrs later. They did a quintuple bypass after the 2nd. It really sucked seeing him in the hospital and knowing the pain he was feeling but after he recovered, he was like a new man. Had energy to do stuff and always this big grin on his face. My folks just visited here 3 weeks ago and he still has the energy, now at almost 70.
We are pulling for you and once they get through the surgery, it starts looking better.
Take care,

Just dropping in(again), awesome work guys. I've been trying to get my life back on track recently ( as in back to schooling-then hopefully finishing ) so I haven't much time to hobbies. But soon I'll post sketches.
Hope you're all doing well.

Walt, Your dad is in my prayers. Go ahead and do what you need to do. We'll be here.
Sorry gang, I've been away for a bit. Good news is that I finally got a digital camera. It is a Nikon Coolpix 8700, with macro capablity and 8 megapixels. Needless to say, I'll be posting some pics of my projects soon. But, before I post anything, I currently have msn as the place where I post pictures. I tried to link to the pictures, but it won't let me do it. Do you guys have a free web place where they let you link your pics so that everyone can see it here?
Also, I would like to load a personal signature picture. It is the Marine Corps emblem. Just trying to navigate and find my way on the board.
Thanks in advance!!! :)
