                        By the way, if people need some other ships, here are a few transports I've been working on that haven't been written up as museum articles yet.

                        I've made a little progress on the PV. I made the bridge section, less the dome, out of plexi-glass sanded to shape. The nacelle stubs are also plexi-glass. I'll be shooting on some primer tomorrow to check for scratches and cracks and should see final paint by Wed after I scribe in the shuttle door detail.

                        You're welcome, StevenQ. I usually draw my ships in 1/1000 scale to simply ship charts and comparisons. This one was output at 144 dpi for the added clarity. The scale bar should keep things straight, I hope.

                        Those red bumps are phaser turrets, and the rectangle on top of the secondary hull (with the name and registry number) is the opening to the shuttle bay.

                        Thanks, Masao. I printed that pic off the site and it actually came out close enough to 1/1000 scale to use as a pattern. I take it the red "bumps" are the phasers. How 'bout the shuttle bay locale?

                        Congrats on the new scratchbuild, Woody!

                        StevenQ: I never did a ventral view of Kestrel, but I think it would look pretty much the same as the dorsal. The only real difference is that the secondary hull is mounted a bit more towards dorsal. As far as I can tell, it has five phaser turrets and two large cannons in front.                         Everything I build anymore is 1/1000 but that is just me. Build it what ever scale you like. My Avenger will be about 7 3/4" give or take. I'm working off drawings I've had copied to scale and the exact length escapes me.

                        By the way I have been working on my project but I haven't gotten around to taking any pics. It's been a little hectic around here. My wife who was told by the experts 7 years ago that she couldn't become pregnant called me Thur. morning. She went to the Doc thinking her blood sugar was off only to find out she is expecting.                         After further inspection I guess it will be fine. The nacelles will have to be scratched, though. I may need a ventral view and more info on weapons placement, etc.

                        Mine is 1:1000 so I could have some other ships to display with the PL TOS Enterprise and the extra nacelles came in handy.

                        OK guys I'm going to attempt the Kestrel Class, time permitting of course. So sign me up! I've been reading up on it and it sounds intriguing. The shape looks fairly simple, just need to find some warp engines.

                        Boy I wish I could tell you but it was trial and error. The one thing I do on all complex shapes is to first cut it out on card stock. Once I have it right I transfer it to styrene. The saucer top is actualy several dome and curved shapes brought together (and you can throw in some luck on this one).
                        Glad you found a project and I'll be looking forward to your progress.

                        Thanks everyone for their suggestions. I think I will start with a Daedalus Class ship. I have inserted the jpeg into Autocad and am going to trace out most of the parts and then use them as templates. I would insert the image but I do not know how to do that. Put me down for one build, please.
