One from the stern...so you can see the aft access to the cabins below...ladders will be installed here as well.

And then I will build the helm house......Just a few more items left(aft hatch cover and pin rails)

Looking down the length of the ship.......Yeah..it's not perfect and others could have done better..but I'm enjoying this build...cuz I love this ship and I really want a model of it to go in my collection of clippers.

I think the only significant CS kit items I will be using will be the yards...and possibly the top masts as well.  I will be making the composite main masts..strapping them as the prototypes.

This is a lively thread these days......I'm doing all the talking it appears........oh well.

see ya tomorrow.

And an overall view of the ship...I love this ship..it is so beautiful in its lines...no wonder she was harald as a great beautiful ship by t those who knew her.

Tomorrow..I'll tackle the poop cabin and subsequent details.

I hope you are enjoying it as Much as I am.  I'll add all the gunnels and deadeyes after the deck houses are finished.

Pulling away you can see all the scratch built items needed to finish the Glory.  I did use the pump wheels from the CS...but nothing else...I needed to make all the other pump parts to fit the rail.

Lastly one close up and down by the deck.  I still have to add the forward bolster and fife rail...and the fire buckets on the aft of the house roof......I weathered as well. Plastic boat is placed just for reference at this time(It will go there), and the formast is just a stub so I can add the fife rail.

Spent some time making the forward cabin today.......Lots of door access and windows with slided had to be made...plus the upper boat skids...I opted to make the Glory in her pre 1872 conversion.....the way Donal McKay built her..NOT the way she was modified over the course of her life.

Here is the forward cabin scratch built.

Some more work today on the forecastle..I added the catheads..front bitt, capstan and the forward hatch.

I had to scratch build all of the parts.

I'm currently using actual drawings of the Glory..so I can now begin the deck houses and furniture.  One thing I find quite fascinating is that they covered the hold hatches while at sea with with temporary structures.......the aft hatch had a temp Midshipman(boys) cabin over it which became permanent after many of the 1872 modifications.....along with the chicken coop over the main hatch aft of the main mast.

I'm trying to decide if I want to depict her before or after her 1872 mods....there are lots if I do the latter.
