Bonjour,
Bravo pour ce merveilleux travail.
Un travail d’orfèvre et en plus une parfaite connaissance du sujet.
Je vais suivre ce sujet avec un très grand intérêt.

Painting of the Glory of the Seas
I love the aft decking and cabin...and furniture of this american clipper.....all items were scratch built.
Thanks Rob, I'll give it a try on my next copper bottom. I like that it doesn't look like a bright new penny, but that is just my taste. I'll try corroding it and see what happens, but it is deffentely a great color!
Steve
She's ready for rigging..........Less then a month to build her...now lets see how long it takes to rig her..shall we...?
Thanks for watching....
Rob
And the port side
Closer view of the double bobstays and braces
Bobstays and bowsprit shrouds...rigged
Now onto the standing rigging......stays.
Hand painting tiny letters has NEVER been my thing. I could use dry erase or order decals..but I prefer the total hand made look. Just like grandpa used to make........:)
I did the best I can with these old hands.
Wider view...now I will tackle the stern name plate..it is curved...Oh boy! :( Hope I can pull this off.
Finished the bumkins and aft chocks
Almost a perfect match of the old Cutty Sark bottom.
Hi Steve..I used Rust-oleum Metallic. It was the perfect color for Munz metal......
It dries glossy...but you can over spray with dullcoat if you wish. I think it is a perfect color instead of plain copper.
Rob,
She's coming along beautifully. What did you use to simulate the munz metal plating on the lower hull?
Yeah....Jim..I began this conversion on May 2.....
And it's just the 28th now. Take some time to scroll through the thread.
And thanks for commenting.
I wasn't aware until today you'd started yet another ship. I'm always amazed at how fast you can construct such fantastic models!
"Whaddya mean 'Who's flying the plane?!' Nobody's flying the plane!"
A wider view of the ship coming along.........Just a few more small items to add, like the aft 2 bumkins.
A top view of the poop cabin.
Another view of the forward cabin additions. I build nearly all the parts from scratch(cept the yards and boat).
Also the lazarette hatch and the binnacle.....on front of the wheel house.
Aft I added the galley stove pipe, fife rail at the mizzen head...both sky lights .
Did lots of stuff today...I finished both sides of the channels and added lots more detail...forward is the boat and extra yards
Looking aft....and the same.
One of the forward deckhouse and deck furniture.
Closeup of bow showing all the work done(needed) to convert. If you're knowledgeable.
Finished the futtock shrouds..still need to glue mast in place.
I didn't spend any time on the model this weekend...memorial services kept me focused on our service members...in memory and celebration.
I'll be at it again this week.
Wide angle view.....I think they came out pretty nice actually.
Both channels........
