Great work so far! Your wood looks great so if you're happy with it then move on.
In the future, if you want a bit more Yellow to your wood effect, you might try using Tamiya's Dark Yellow as a base. I then use at least three to five colors of artist oils to get the depth and tones I want. I also do all the painting of acrylics before I apply my oils so that all the colors juxtapose. I only put a dull coat on after I'm done. I apply oils right on top of the acrylics and mixed them on the model itself.
I can't tell you to look at my old wips since the PhotoBucket debacle wiped out the pictures, and I've decided that I'm not going to do or post anymore wips.
Just my two cents. As I said, your Victory is looking great.
