Bish

Thanks das. The white was actually easier than i thought. I started out on the nose useing the photo i had, copying each patch as closely as i could and then just carrying on for the rest. I was not to worried about the pattern of each piece of white, mainbly about keeping the same gap between patches.

I thought i would need 2 coats, but 1 gave just the right rough patchy finish i wanted. All i would suggest is take you time, i did this in 3 sessions over 2 nights, quicker than i had expected. But of course thats less than half the aircraft. I plan on doing the same for the 48th kit but all over. Which kit have you got.

I have 2 different kits. The Revell/Monogram kit was on of the first I built when I was a wee lad. Always wanted to do one again and waited for years for Revell to re-issue it. Finally ended up buying Hasegawa 48th kit. Lo and behold, months later Revell comes out with the kit. I will build the Revell first with the, I call it "The Where Eagles Dare" paint scheme like yours for more practice before I start the Hase "Stuka Tankbuster"

Excellent work, Sir. I love the winter scheme. You did that by hand using no masks at all? outstanding! I have a "Tankbuster" also, that I want to try the same style. Any secrets you can divulge?

Hello Bish, I like them all! Yes

The quality of the combined ground work and figures makes me think these were much larger than 72nd scale.  Will be an impressive album of workmanship when all is done.

Jack

Thanks Mancity. Though the project is not done yet, still 6more to follow.

The spirals are done with decals and area real pain. Its the first time i have done them and they took ages. The Ju 87 spiral broke apart so i did that in sections.

Well, they were definitely worth the work.  They look fantastic.

Having visited Manchester and London many years ago, my take was that English and Sarcasm were synonymous.Big Smile

On the bucket list is another trip to Manchester so I can see a live Man City game.  May have to take a defibrillator for that one.

It is for some of us Big Smile but it still eludes many.

My other half is a Manc, so i have been up there a few times. But i am not a lover of big cities, much prefer the country.

Congratulations on completing a huge project! The kits are excellent, and only enhanced by the presentation. I agree with others that the whitewash scene is inspired. All of the models are very well done, but what caught my eye right away was the spirals on the spinners. I have no idea how you did that, other than magic. Thanks for putting up this very ambitious WIP.

Fantastic job on all four Bish! The whitewash scence is a great job and you did a great job displaying it. Like others, I really like that 190 scence! Great job!

Thanks templar, its much appreciated.

I have been doing dio's for a very long time. The thing for me now is to try and come up with scenes or bases that have more interest. The problem with aircraft is that they are oftyen parked on wide open flat spaces and its all to easy to repeat the same scene. maintanance, loading, re fueling, crew boarding etc. So when ever possable i like to do somthing a little different like the painting dio.

Every time I see one of your finished builds I add an item to my dio stash,I have a long way to go before I attempt one,but from your builds;to paint and weathering, subject matter, material and elements, each one portrays a pictorial narrative. You make it look easy.Once again outstanding work( 4 of them!).

Thanks guys, the comments are very much appreciated.

I white washing was not my original plan for the G-2, but when i was looking at the pic with the aircraft with it on it just dawned on me this would make a much better dio. And i plan on doing the 48th G-2 fully white washed and i am now really happy that i can do that.

And even though its not a Stuka, the Dora dio is deffinetly my favorite of the 4.

Thanks again.

Wow, that's awesome across the board. I love the scene with the crew slopping on the white over the camo. Very cool indeed. Well done, Bish.

Beautiful work on all three. I wish I could work in 1/72 scale but it's just too small for my limited skills. You've done a magnificent job on these.

Excellent as always Bish. I'll have to say my favorite is the Dora. I've always liked that bird.

The whitewash is outstanding ad well as the snow.

Bish,

Congrats on finishing stage 1! Very well done! I really like the winter scene. Very imaginative on your part for displaying as the aircraft is recieving it's new camouflage!

Thanks PJ. I don't go for to much detail on these small figures. And i completly agree about the 190. I think the Dora's are the nicest of the 190's and i am really looking forward to doing the 32nd one.
