In Gundam 0080, what does the machine gun that the RGM-79D GM Cold District Type carries resemble?

The E-11 blaster rifle that the stormtroopers in star wars use.

EDIT- also to a lesser extent, the gunpod of the YF-19 from Macross Plus.

Looks like a British Sten 9mm submachine gun used in WWII.

On a side note, I believe that the Imperial E-11 was also modellled after that particular firearm

Roger

A majority of gundam weapons were designed from WWII weapons, the rocket launcher for the Zaku is the M1, the one for the Dom is the Panzershreck

actualy the E-11 was based on the Sterling submachine gun used from 1953 to 1988 by the British Army.

said gun is also my final answer for the question. Big Smile [:D]

Multipart question

What is the only Mobile Suit in the universal century to be named after a constellation/animal.

What constellation/animal is it named after, What language is it it's name in,  What series is it from and what makes it physically different from every other gundam (design wise).

Thats a bit of a doosy.

Not sure if its included on the Universal Century or not.  But in the Gundam Wing series, there were three.

Leo- Basic design, used by both sides.

Aries-designed for space flight.  Could transfrom between vehicle and gundam.

Taurus- one of the first to use the mobile doll system

Cancer- Designed after a crab.  Acted like a sub and then could transform into its gundam mode.

Pisces- also designed for underwater use.  and also could transform from vehicle mode to gundam mode.

Virgo- mobile doll system created using technology from both the Vayatte and Marcurious suits.

Heh, thats why I said universal century, universal century includes Gundam,  08th ms team, 0080... etc etc etc CCA Unicorn, Victory gundam, G savior, and everything inbetween, show and novel.

Wing is in the AFter Colony time line.  Seed is in the cosmic era etc.

Unicorn Gundam-

From: MSG:Unicorn Gundam

What makes it unique: Its armor opens up and it goes into what is called destroy mode.

while not directly from a constelation named after a unicorn, ther is a unicorn shaped one.

OR

Phenex gundam from SD generations video games. it is consitered to be in both UC and FC timelines. Sukker is wierd even for me......

I guess that 'technichly' correct.  Wasn't the answer I was after, mainly because you know, unicorns and pheonix arent real animals

Remember, I said different, not unique, there is one feature of it that is completly and utterly against the design of the rest. (because the zeta was unique it could transform into wave rider, alex had the special armor, Nu had fin funnels, there all unique, this one is differnt)

I doth believe I have stumped the group.

Since noone could get it, ill give it to puma for the next Q, because he had a 'good guess'

Heres the info.

Unit name: Le Cygne

Le Cygne = Swan = Cygnus (constilation)

Language Be: French

Manga: Ecole du Ciel

Largest difference in units: The head

take a look at the head of this gundam unit, its wildly different then the others. (while you can still see the gundam influence in the Zeta type chest piece)

Not a bad question Smeagol.  I was thinking hard too but I couldn't guess it.  I thought of unicorn, but I didn't know what series it was part of and I didn't know of a unicorn constelation.  You got us all.

If at first you do succeed, try to hide your astonishment.

Our respect and admiration for your knowledge and our gratitude for sharing it with us.  And a question, where do you get all these things to read?  I want all the gundam stuff I can find but I cant find a ton and I cant always afford it.

1) the answer to your question is the internet, look hard enough and you can and will find anything.

2) todays questions (sorry, I have 2. they just both seemed like good ones) -

In the movie Aliens, the ship Sulaco was only filmed from one side, why? Also how many "hero" models did they have for the dropship in the same movie?

wow, dont I feel like I have no life. I think my crazy knowlage of the Alien legacy is a bit to much for some. No offence ment. so in place of my original questions, here is a easier one.

Who was originaly cast to play the Predator in the first Predator movie?

If you can guess the answer to the other two questions I will give you some LoLCat pics.

Is it Jean-Claude Van Damme? I heard that somewhere. And can'tt remember the source.

That would be correct! Jean-Claude Van Damme was eventualy replaced with the late Kevin Peter Hall due to him not beeing menacing enough for the director's needs. IMHO, we got the good end of the deal.

as for the other two questions, I will just out with the answers for ya.

1) the sulaco was only shot from one side because only one side of the model was ever compleated. for the shots of it in Alien 3 they had to repaint the ship and put the lettering on so it could be read in a mirror and then filmed it that way.

2) only one. One side was marked 01 and the other 02. this was to save money on the miniatures budget.

On to you Boba.
