This was 'technically' ordered by me, but my wife is giving it to me for my birthday next month  The just released Meng 1/24 GT40.  Can't wait!

That's the way it is here at my house. I give here a list to choose from because I really do want to be surprized and she tells me to go ahead and order somthing and she'll pay me back. That's not as nearly as much fun.

I do like the looks of that La-7.

Ordred this christmas tree for posing pictures of my drag cars - should be fun.

Maybe I'm thinking of the Eduard standard kits. I was thinking they did come with the canopy masks, my mistake... Huh?

Thanks G. I'm with you on the La-7, a really good looking fighter! And on the Eduard Weekend Edition kits. But none of the ones in my stash have any masks, PE, or similar such goodies, only the basic plastic sprues and usually just one markings option.

Very cool SP. I really like the La-7, I have one in my stash somewhere. And love that it's a 'Weekend' kit, all the stuff you need to assemble the kit like canopy masks and a small fret of PE but not a pile of the stuff.

Drums, that's a nice Gepard kit. A bit older, but will still build up quite nicely.

Aggie, that's a fine pair of new kits that you scored!

As for me... Hello friend! (says I to the bringer of good things) Our mailman brought my two latest purchases over the past couple of days.

First up, an Eduard La-7 to replace my old one that did not make the move from CA to AZ.

second up, a set of decals  for the Hobbyboss M706 in my stash. I love the Snoopy “nose art”.

That’s all for now…

Nicely done. The A-26 sure seems to be a very sweet kit. I have a couple of the other models myself.

My latest purchases:  Meng F/A-18E Hornet, ICM A-26B Invader, detail set for Monogram's P-36, Tamiya glue, Tamiya sanding papers, and Mr. Color Leveling Thinner.

I picked up the supplies yesterday at a HobbyTown in Plano, TX (other side of the State of Texas for me, I was there visiting my son and his wife).  The kits came from various sellers on eBay (the Hornet came from Pearland, TX, about 40 miles away as the crow flies but had to take a circuitous route from Pearland to Katy via the USPS).

Wow Joe!  Nice haul.

Drums - that's one of the few armor peices I've built.  Super cool vehicle and the rear of the turret/radar opens up if I recall.

Thanks,

John

I'm sure glad this isn't a contest as I would be in last place,... just kidding. I really don't buy many kits on a regular basis as I have a stash that will last two lifetimes. Some of what I've been seeing is really nice looking. I am looking forward in seeing a build posted in the forum for the new Tamiya Phantom as well as several of those armor kits I've seen on here.

For me I got a fantastic deal on this older Tamiys kit. It was something I've always wanted so I couldn't pass it up.

This will look good beside the Sgt York, and ZSU-23-4.

Those are awesome Joe! I might pick up the same KV-85 when I get my KV-I finished. I've got the same Hellcat, I tried modifying a crew to fit inside and ended up stalled out on it. Really need to dust her off and finish. And you can never have too many Shermans!

John- Those are some unique kits you found there. Very interesting indeed.

Cliff- I like the KV-1 kit you got and the figures are a fine choice.

Pat- That Renault is a cool kit. Another fine subject and find.

Well done folks!

Speaking of KV-1's, I forgot to share some armor kits I acquired some time ago

Pat: That's very cool!

And guys I love that violet Bearcat!

I wonder if a slow fried tower would have been more effective. And yeah Dodgy, some quite attractive Russian ladies in that photo, esp the brunette on the left. Heart

Wow Gamera! Love that Russian talk, "a quick fried tower", gotta get me one of those. As for the accordions and folk dancing, I could handle a little 'horizontal folk dancing' with a couple of those Russian sheilas....

The TMW PE along with thick and thin EZ line showed up today.  For the John M Brown,  no idea yet on how much brass I'll use, and this will be first attempt at rigging anything.

Yes, and the have the same scheme without the checkerboard pattern.  Calligraphics, they do stuff for R/C, bit not able to get down to our scales.

Just heard back from them.  They're willing to sell me the artwork to get a set of decals made for Rare Bear.

The purple checkerboard? Yes

Just sent an email to calligraphics in NM, asking.  They do a couple sets for the RC folks.

Have the old Testors kit coming.  Also a set of TMW PE for the Trumpy 1/350 John W Brown.

Gamera,

I am glad you got some retail relief from the vaccine side-effects!  I had a mild fever, joint aches, and headache for two days.

Hee-hee, on the box art for the Soviet Tank Crew Winter Uniforms, that's me on the left, saying "Gamera, you need to buy these kits too!"  Big Smile  You do seem skeptical though...  And the guy standing behind you is thinking "Dang, he's doing it AGAIN!!!"  Surprise

It's great that the main firecrackers were changed to pack better types!  So many quick fried towers - how COULD the Russians lose?

“Ya ya ya, unicorn papoi!”
