The thought/ idea that I have in my mind with the insurgent(s) is that they ARE hiding on the balcony 1) b/c they RARELY engage forces that are so close (personal protection) & 2) b/c they highly out numbered. I was just thinking about one of the insurgents trying to get a sneek peek at what was going on .... seeing as if they're hiding out on the balcony, they're going to be trapped inside if the Troopers start searching. Tactically, the best thing for them to do would be to lay low, observe, and NOT engage. US would most likely move on w/o even knowing they were there.
HOWEVER, I know that you kind-of have a different idea for the whole feeling behind the dio. So, if you're going for more of a shoot out feel, I think that you should have the guy peeking over the wall while holding an AK above his head (over the rail ... in the spray and pray shooting stance.)
As posted before, 9 times out of 10, nothing really "interesting" happens on patrols. That's just the nature of an insurgency warfare. This all just depends on what you're going for.
Just throwing ideas out there for ya. Honestly, I'm not 100% clear on the final idea you're trying to go for, but I was rather just admiring the progress at hand. I have no doubt that once its done, I'll be able to tell what you were going for.
As far as dressing them in all black, I wouldn't. Those guys were OBVIOUSLY bad ... out in the middle of the night, dressed in black, AKs, duffel bags, shovels, picks ... ACOG sights on their chests ....
The only other people that I saw in black would be VERY traditionally dressed females.
Just my ...
