I like that idea of the rockets on his back, sounds like a plan. Sorry model about the 1/35 kit Whistling [:-^] maybe sooner or later some major big name 1/16 scale company will make a real nice M-14 for ya.

Now see ... thats just not right. Actually, Deyun Hobby makes a nice 120mm figure with an M-14. However, I don't really like the figure itself, so that means I'd be paying $40 for a rifle. I'd rather stake my chances of scratching my own from an M1!

And just for the record ... there's nothing wrong with the '80s. I loved my knee-high striped socks and my half-shirts. I'm just under the belief that progress is there for a reason .... there's no need to go back to it. :)

depends on the progress!! Mischief [:-,] yeah, sorry i dont know who what where when or why with the m14...wasnt looking for one so i didnt pay attention. i may come across it again. certainly would be cheaper to scratch your own!! or im sure one of those mcfarlane figs has to have one u could use/cast!

on the dio front...havent done anything in the last couple of days. was out working in the yard out in the rain!! (its just water). Wink [;)]

Nice choices Camo ... I can only speak for the last two kits, but those are good ones. If you play your cards right, the Verlinden "conversion" kit should make you a few good figures. (I made molds of a couple of the torsos and legs ... just to extend the kit ...)

Glad to hear that things are progressing.

thanks. i was also thinking of doing the same thing with the molds! the conversion set...the one pair of legs in it seem smaller than 1:35 scale...may just be me but...! also, just out of curiousity, when did they start using yellow resin?? not that it matters...i like it better than that green color. although it makes it look like they're "cheaper" quality. regardless, i was going to use all warrior kits until i saw the price tag...Shock [:O]...so i am using some from warriors and others from cheapy verlinden!! anyway thanks again for the insight and things are progressing...slow they may be!! I'm in the same boat .... once you start working with a mix of different kits, you start to notice that 1/35 sizes wonder all over the place. You're right in thinking that the Verlinden legs look a little small .... or is it that the Warrior's figs are a little big. Now THAT will mess with you're head. Hobby Fan's STYKR figs are the same way.

The only thing that you can do is try to build/ position the figures in the dio so that you don't notice it so much. You can also always argue that not everyone is 6", 185 lbs!?!

yeah i suppose your right. guess like you said i will position them to look good anyway...we'll see! Whistling [:-^] i guess then with the different sizes you can throw in those "miniatues" that i also bought for this. oh well...will make do anyway. Mischief [:-,]

Just play around with the figures. Mix and match them in every possible configuration. Only then will you really find the combination that works best.

Good luck with that .... I'll be doing the same thing in the coming weeks.

Been eyeing that one for quite some time. Sorry, it's been a stupid long week of work, I've been following in my email updates, but not posting, just too tired. It's been all rainy and we've had a bunch of catch up to do (at the golf course... woo Disapprove [V] ugh)

And I've been spending most of my internet time shotgun hunting. Which has proven itself quite difficult, especially since I'm in one of those great Liberal locations where Wal-Mart has deemed it tactically unsound to sell firearms larger than .117 caliber HA!

Anyway, I'll keep scrolling down and try to force myself in on whatever convo you guys were going on about without me.

OO OH!

The Vietnam Ledged Productions Heliborne figures I have are super tiny, like 1/38ish, then I have a Verlindin M79 Blooper that is like 1/34. I guess by the sound, Warriors is 1/33ish. Tamiya and Dragon plastic are about the same size best as I can tell- which I think of as the standard when I gauge 1/35. I'll sometimes put them in biggest to shortest order in a lame attempt at "perspective"... at least that's my excuse lol

See... yeaaah... totally didn’t miss a beat haha Sad [:(] looking forward to some pictures of all these new figs and their respective progress camo

yeah i hear ya chris. gotta get over these graduation parties etc b4 i can get any "real" work done. my 18 yr old daughter just graduated (yeah i feel old seeing as how she was born in germany when i was in the army!!). Sigh [sigh].

yeah, these sizes of these different figures is weird.  i have other verlinden stuff that is much "bigger" but again...whatever...will make it all work. will try and slap some paint on these figs within the next couple of days. Wink [;)]

Mischief [:-,]

anyway, the wife changed here hospital shift to midnights so i think i will have alot more time to work on this thing now. (i should anyway). 6 months is way too long and i need to finish it up. gonna get these figs painted then need to order a few more then im done!!! Whistling [:-^]

Yeah, I'm sure if I think time flies now, after the next 20 quick years I'll be shocked haha

You're in the final stages, that's the hardest part for me- I bet the building flew together and now it's just the details that drag on. I'm the same way, you'll notice my M151 was going pretty good, then halted.

Maybe it's the lack of large dramatic change. I guess gluing a gas tank to the back isn't as awe-inspiring as building up the whole frame and the base etc.

But it must be done. haha

Awww ... come'on! Give us something!!!! hehe ... glad things are coming along ...

As ironic as it is, now that I have more time to build build build ... I'm not getting squat done with mine. I'm actually stumped on scratching a piece ... but whatever.

Congrats to all ... now comes the real lessons of life! Have fun, be safe, and update when you can. Take care.

what's that supposed to mean?? the whole take care thing...u leaving??? i know your stumped on your little bird but you'll get it! Confused [%-)]

as for me, that n.w. miniature figure...what an oustanding figure. talk about a breeze to paint and the detail...WOW. never have i painted a figure as good as this one. not trying to sound conceeded...the paint just went on this figure like it was made for it. no priming no cleaning...just applied the paint. i wish they were all like that. i will post it when the flesh dries in another day or so. again, i think its more the level of detail than my paint job...but damn i highly recommend these figures!!!

HAHA, no ... not going anywhere just yet, camo ...

Which one was your NW figure again .... never-mind, I'll scroll up and read it again. I love it when figures go together smoothly. Besides the mishap, my SF figure was pretty smooth as well.

Can't wait to see it!

How big is the base you re using? I picked up an awards plaque to use, but it isnt quite big enough for the building and the hummer. Might just use the building and have a few more troops thown in.

Where did you get the N.W. miniatures from? Do they have a website? They look awesome and i could use a couple of them for my one!

the base is about 8" x 8" give or take...never really measured...just made it fit! i, like u, was originally not going to put a humvee with it...but upon a much heated debate...someone (we wont name names m.c. Whistling [:-^]) wanted me to put one in the dio! as far as the n.w.m. figures...i live by the michigan toy soldier company (they have a site...just google) so i went there to buy them (although they are sold at different modeling sites...its early and i cant tell ya which ones...yet!) Propeller [8-]. not sure what your pocket book is like but just to let ya know they retail for about $15 apiece...kind of expensive for one figure per!! but after painting that one...well worth it in my opinion!! still have to pick up some more figs from warriors...but i need to paint these others first! hope that helps ya...in the mean time i will search a couple of sites for ya. cant wait to see your pics!!
