Wing ribs are all installed.  Now I'm off too Grand Rapids on business and probably won't be home until Thursday morning.

Oh ya.  I had time to put some Christmas decorations and lights up today.

It's a Charlie Brown tree available in stores like Rite-Aid for about $10. I bought  bunch  of them last year and gave them as gifts.

Hobby lobby has them to, 40% coupon here I come!!!!!!!

I am SO buying one... I am so excited to see this B-17 finished!

The good news......I'm back from Grand Rapids. 

The bad news.....In my haste to quickly finish the wing ribs before I left, I installed the ribs in the wrong locations for the fuel tanks.  (front cell is now in the rear) 

Time to phone in a favor and see if I can get a new set made.  When will I learn?????

Could try using debonder if you used CA glue.  It will take paint with it as well.

I used liquid cement........Not a big deal except for the time and embarrassment......

you mean Testors liquid cement? it will definitely come apart.

If it's Testors then it should come apart easily, if it's Micro-Weld then you are going to have a problem.  That stuff is tough.

Look what I got today!

I can turn each light on independently and/or dim, start the engines and run them up, run an IFF sequence, turn the nav lights on, etc, etc, etc.  If I just turn it on with the magnet, it runs a complete sequence.

Right now, I was planning on B-17B-20-BO #42-31585 Mount' N Ride......I'm not 100% committed to this, so maybe I could do something different.....I'm open to suggestions.

       Today, I was able to fix my screw up by carefully cutting apart what I messed up.  Time to add the navigation lights, landing lights, and motors harness.

I haven't had much time lately.  I've been living in grand Rapids and will be there most of the time this week as well.  Inbetween trips, I decided the fuel tanks looked like crap, so I redid them.  What do ya think?

Yes they did.  Aluminum shell and a rubber bladder.  The black nibs are lock pins of the rubber bladder extruding outside of the aluminum shell.   The pictures below are from the Erection and Maintenance Manual.
