Okay.  Proof that I'm working on the HO.

Wing root seams are a bit problematic.

 

Kit construction is not always pretty.

 

Will re-scribe selected seams and try using an ultra-sharp black Sharpie for some pre-shading.

Each build is a learning experience.  Thanks for looking.

Hmm!  I've never seen them in the same room at the same time.

Mike, The seams look good but you are going to have some real fun rescribing the lines. Are you using sheet sand paper? Ihave found that using sanding sponges and sticks keep the sanding just on the seams and means less clean up. (I am too lazy to rescribe)

MAJMike -- wow, that top seam really did fight you. It was not the best on mine, for sure, and took some filler. I use 1200 wet or dry, wrapped around an old, thin, flat-blade file, used wet, to keep the sanding effect tight on the seams, but sometimes the only way to blend it is to go finger-width, and rescribe what you lose. Looks like you have a fair bit of surface redressing to do, I'd suggest two, maybe three grades of paper, and of course used wet.

My PhD is grinding to a close, I sincerely doubt I'll be able to get to the bench before the end of the month, but I'm looking forward to giving these Hos a seeing to when the opportunity comes along!

Good advice.  This is why I do armor in 1/35th scale.  1/72nd requires better fine motor skills than I have.  Aircraft require a lighter hand and finer finish than I'm used too.  But, every kit is a learning experience.

Mike,  the HO's looking good. To avoid sanding off details, I put masking tape over areas I don't want to screw up. You can tape close to the seam, but you'll have a ridge, as I discovered with my Tomcat.
