I am seeing a cool &  wet weekend shaping up, which should translate into bench time! So I should be able to completely take over the kitchen table work bench and make some real progress. I'll be trimming my styrene wings back some to make room for the basswood leading edges, sanding & shaping them in place.

I'll shoot some photos of my 1/72nd scale HO and post them tomorrow.  Its been filled, sanded and primed in MM Light Grey enamel.  Plan on going with a dark green/light green splinter camo pattern with helblau on the lower surfaces.  Aircraft will be numbered "229".

It will make a suitable BB gun target.  Working on it has reminded me why I like armored vehicles.

Looking good to me MajMike. I see you had the wing to fuselage gap problem that I had. I think that was the worst thing about the kit. Looking forward to seeing it painted up.

For myself, I figured out how to mask the intakes yesterday -- removed the compressor spikes, inserted rolled paper and packed the voids with tissue. I may be getting to the RLM 04 today. Pics to come...

Good advice, thanks.  Seeing as this is only 1/72nd scale, I think I'll go on with the camo job and touch up the intakes, etc with a brush.  This project reminds me why I like armored vehicles.

Sprayed the dunkel grun on over the primer grey.  Some bleeding underneath the masking tape, but I'll come back with a darker green to even things out.

Well, I've always liked Fletcher-class destroyers.  Built a Revel "The Sullivans" back in the dark ages.  A "Graf Spee" would be nice, too.

The green turned out much, much darker than it looked in the bottle.  My screw-up.  We'll see if/how I can salvage the situation.  Every construction is anexperiment.

You A/B it or hand painting it? If you are using an A/B mix the paint with a touch of white and lots of thinner and spray it back over the green and it will lighten it up.
