This is such a long running post that I don't think I posted these here . The old 1/48 Monogram Huey Hog.

Monogram Century series 1/48 Voodoo in Alclad and original kit decals.

1/48 Tomcat

Old Monogram 1/48 Mustang. I remember I purchased 3 at Toys'R Us for $3 each.

Old Monogram 1/72 F-4J. These 1/72 F-4's, both the Navy J and USAF C/D have very good molded details specially in the pit.

Revell new tooled 1/72 F-14D. These kits are just a pleasure to build and have excellent details and recessed panel lines.

Revell 1/32 Bf-109G

Revell 1/32 Arado

Very old Monogram 1/72 Fokker DVII which is an ex Aurora mold. I bought them from Squadron in 1987 for a buck or two each. I still have the original shipping box with the UPS shipping label which cost only $1.59 to ship two Fokkers and one Camel.

I have more, just have to dig up the pictures.

This is a very bad picture of a picture of a 1/48  He 111Z that I built from two monogram kits and a conversion back in the late 90's. Unfortunately one of my cats knocked it off the display shelf. Boom

But I was able to save the resin center wing. Here it is next to a 48th Bf 109. I will build it again.

Old thread, great builds! Poor Doog (not our "The Doog"), this thread has more replies than his whole blog...

Well this is the thread that keeps on giving. All we need is another new entry and boom, it keeps on going. It slows down, it speeds up, but it will never die as long as 1) this site exists, and 2) we keep on building Monogram (and Revell) kits...

As far as blogs go (anybody's blog), I think a site like this is better where everyone has an equal say in things. I do appreciate the blogs where folks dig up various stuff and share them with all of us though.

Crown, very nice B-25!

Thanks! I appreciate the kind words. I do have the honor of building the model for the box art for the rerelease of the R/M F-18F.

I can see why. You have a knack for it.

Aggieman how in the world did you get those nice prop spinner circles? The last ones I tried I finally gave up trying to airbrush them so I just dipped them

The spinners were 2 parts, so it was just a simple matter of painting the forward sections blue and the rear parts where the props attach white.

The Monogram spinners are a two piece job (front and rear pieces). I am guessing he painted the two parts different colors :-)

That is a prime example of what the models SHOULD look like on the side of the box. That is clean!

Here is my first completed kit for this year. I had to glue on the pitot tube so that is all the work that was done this year! I replaced the guns. That is all the mods I made to the kit.

I started building Monograms Dauntless back in the winter.  She is all ready for paint, but on the back burner now. I spent ovrer 4 hours sanding all the flash and mold seam lines off all of the parts LOL! My fingers hurt at the end haha It was nice when I was a child and didnt worry about miticulosly cleanig and prepping all of the parts... I want to build their Helldiver again (my favorite "working" monogram kit) but I honestly don't feel like cleaning all of the partsStick out tongue

Yet another old classic never photographed before, here's my Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber.  It was built around 1993-94.

Built 20+ years ago, here's a build never before photographed at the airport.  It's the Monogram 1/48 Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX.  I added some resin wheels and a vac-formed canopy from Squadron.  I scratchbuilt an entire cockpit interior based on drawings from Watanabe's Great Planes of World War Two.  The paint was probably Humbrol or Model Master enamel, sprayed with a Paasche H.  I used some old car model radiators to fit in the underwing radiator scoops.  All in all, way too much time spent on an old kit like this but this was built before the Internet, and I didn't know there was anything "wrong" with the kit. Big Smile

Here is the Monogram 1/48 F-20 Tigercat. It is a very simple kit yet the pit is really well made. Unfortunately the decals are not the best and none are available as AM for this particular scheme. The decals that came with the kit looked really good, actually looked mint until they went into the water. The adhesive just flaked off and the decal looked like a piece of plastic tape.

Thanks to fellow member Fly N High who was generous in sending me his spare decals which turned out to work out really well with the help of Future. I had to brush Future where the decal was going on then slid the decal in place. Very carefully all the bubbles were pressed out using a water damp paper towel. Once the film looked ok, another light coat of Future was brushed on over the decal. The clear carrier film was a bit hazy and milky looking but once the Future cured, it looked perfect.

The paint is MM Anthracite Metallic Gray enamel, a close match to the prototype's BMW's paint scheme.

This is the last Monogram build I did.  Completed earlier this year.  It is a re-issue (1990s) of the old 1960's era P-38L Lightning, built in the Pathfinder configuration.  Paint is Alclad with Model Master for the blue accents.
