Cool pzl66. Can't wait to see some pictures of it. Even though I have the Zvezda kit my eyes did focus on the ICM kit a couple of times. Well, I primed mine and it's now a grey shape of a plane.....as shown

Knocked out the basic paint job this evening. Mr. Color RLM 02 and 71 sprayed with a Tamiya HG SF airbrush that I keep going back to from whatever else I try. I just like it.

I've run into a little issue with the paint but am correcting it. Waiting on the tape to get here. I tried free handing it and that is NOT gonna happen this go round. Will post some when I get under way with it. I'll be back on here in a few days hopefully with some photos.

Good luck on the fix. Shot mine with gloss last night. Decals are next. Hopefully that goes well. I have had issues in the past.

Whatever you fixed, it looks like it came out well. I like it. Good luck with the rest of the paint job. I'm about to get started on the decal phase of the operation.

Thanks you guys. I will be getting back into the swing of things hopefully tomorrow morning. Took a short needed break but want to finish this thing right. I did things a little backwards from the way I did it last time but should recover ok. Do the Vallejo line up of acrylics have the same lifting problem as the Testors model master acrylics even though I've put primer down first? Just curious so I know what I'm in for.

Thanks. I'm pretty happy with the results. Not a whole lot left to do. Mostly the fiddly bits. There are still plenty of things that can go wrong though.

Thanks, Reasoned. Got a litle bit done tonight. Painted the exhaust and exhaust stains. The exhaust was painted with oils and Mig pigments. The exhaust stains were painted with gouache water colors sprayed at very low pressure and built up slowly. I like them because they dry dead flat and if you mess up it comes right off with a wet Qtip. Finished up the gear with Mig pigments "Russian Earth". This is a western theater plane, but I really can't tell the difference.Stick out tongue

Ok you guys. Put the RLM76 on the sides and bottom on Saturday morning and waited 3 days. I started the mottling today. Here is the latest.........

Tuco...that plane of yours looks great!

Looking good Mustang. How are you doing your mottling? I screwed up a bit on the decals. The bars on the fuselage sides are too close to the crosses. Haven't figured out a way to fix it so I think I'll live with it. Annoyed with myself though. I built the plane on your decal instruction sheet a couple of years ago. Really like that scheme.

Here is where I messed up. I am happy about how well the rivets have held up with paint on them. It's a lot of work to do them one at a time.

Tuco..........if thats the worst you do then youre ok. Man thats a good looking bird. Got a little further on mine this morning. Hopefully I get the whole side mottled this week. Oh by the way I'm using a mottle mask I bought back in 06 for my 1/48 scale 109. That turned out ok but with limited resources over in Iraq and limited patience back then it didn't turn out half as good as this thing I am working on now. Here is a picture of the one I built in 06. It's a 1/48 scale Hasegawa kit

Nice job on Hartmann's plane. Looks like you added a lot of extras. The display is nice too. I agree, patience is the main ingredient to building better models.

Looking great guys! Just a heads up, I will not be on as frequently as I used to (everyday) and will be cutting back to about once a week. If you complete your build send me a PM so when I come on to check up on things I can update the info.. FSM Site technical issues are causing me more pain than enjoyment when using the site so until problems are fixed I am cutting back from here..
